About this listen

Broody. Hot. Intoxicating.

Nastya Semyonov first met Haze at a bar, but for Haze Hopkins, duty calls before either can act
on their desires. He’s gone without a glance back, leaving her thinking that maybe all the hot
looks were only one-sided.

Fast forward to the next day, Nastya hitches a ride to her car that she left behind the night before,
only to run into the same man from last night.

Neither one truly thinks before they act, and they spend a hot fifteen minutes in a fast-food
restaurant bathroom before parting ways again.

It’s as she’s walking back to her car that she realizes how badly she’s screwed up.

Because her car is surrounded in police tape, and there’s one very angry man wearing a badge
standing in front of it with her name on an arrest warrant for killing a man.

Mistakes were made. Repeatedly.

But Detective Haze Hopkins isn’t complaining.

He was ready to quit, anyway.

Crime pays better.

on the edge of my seat

If you're looking for funny, nail biting on the edge of your seat romance, then this is the book for you. The narrators had great chemistry. The overall storyline was chef. Kiss Lani, did it again? I've now read and listen to everything by this author.

Another good one, but....

Another good one, but do you get to choose who voices the books? I have seen other reviews that say you don't. Female awesome, loved the voice & the emotion.

***SPOILER***

The Male, horrible. He had it in the beginning, but then got very robotic. I can honestly say that is the first time I have not cried when an animal dies. His daughter had ZERO emotion when she called him. I would have then & now been inconsolable. If you can't choose the voice I'm sorry & that sucks. If you can, please don't use him again.

Haze and Nastya

Buckle up you are in for a wildly seductive ride.
Hey Daddy is a humorous, sweet, suspenseful and heartwarming story of two people who clearly were meant to be together. Haze and Nastya are adorable together. I loved and enjoyed every single second of this satisfying story. It left me grinning from ear to ear.

Aaarrggggg!

I don't complain often but was severely disappointed with the narrators of this story. I had the first book in the series as audio. I really had to think before I decided to purchase the audio for the second book . Yes I listened to the preview. I guess the rest of the series will be read only. Having over 3000 audiobooks in my audio library I feel that this is a reasonable review. I was so disappointed. I love Lani Lynn Vale stories, many of them rereads and re- listens. Goes to show you can't be a winner every time. I'm enjoying the series otherwise and look forward to the rest as reading material only.

Compassion

Relationship based on love and compassion. Yes, there is sex, but not in every chapter ad nausem. Aww, Finn. 😢 great story

Good story

I think the story was good, it had a good body to it. Unfortunately, the male narrator sounded like he was reading a manuscript. There was no life to his voice.
Hopefully the next one will have different narrators.

Your Serial Killer game is going next level. I'm loving it!

My like? The story is everything I love about a Lani Lynn Vale book. The characters are well developed. You are invested in the main characters as well as the background characters Lani sprinkles throughout her books. The story is layered and her venture with a Serial killer this round is even more sinister than ever. I'm here for all of it!
It kills me too have a regret. My regret is the narrations. It felt like they didn't put any effort into their performance. I've heard such great performances in the past that have made many of her books so special to me that it is regretful when narrators are given authors and series like these and they give such shallow performances.
I hoped Ms. Vale stays with Narrators that have proven themselves time and again to be dedicated to their craft. It matters to us.

But The Dog Is Okay, Right?

I lost my senior rescue dog a year ago so I was bawling my eyes out over Butters. Then Lani felt the need to torture us some more with Finn. Don’t think we’ve forgotten about what happened to Radar Lani- that still cuts deep. The one thing that didn’t make sense to me was that Nastya loved Butters but there’s no mention of what happened to his body. Did she have him cremated would be the obvious choice but then when Finn dies Nastya asks about options like she didn’t know what they were. Don’t do this to us again Lani. I still won’t watch John Wick because apparently a puppy is killed. More happiness when it comes to our fur babies! By the way- Julia still didn’t get what she deserved for Finn. Just saying.
