Publisher's summary
The Harry Potter novels and movies have “mesmerized and entire generation of kids” (Time Magazine, June 23, 2003, p.6). Most consider them harmless fiction - yet could there be a menace behind the magic? God's last books warns, “by sorcery all the nations were deceived” (Revelation 18:23). Will Potter-mania contribute to the fulfillment of this prediction?
Hidden Dangers in Harry Potter is a thought provoking and very informative look into the inspiration and teaching of J.K. Rowling's best selling fiction series. Learn the very real dangers behind this popular character enchanting millions of children with tales of witchcraft. Join Steve Wohlberg as he challenges us to question, What does the Bible say about this kind of entertainment? You will find this to be a well-researched, fair, and eye-opening presentation.

What does it mean when a fictional hero takes a journey? Shares a meal? Gets drenched in a sudden rain shower? Often, there is much more going on in a novel or poem than is readily visible on the surface - a symbol, maybe, that remains elusive, or an unexpected twist on a character - and there's that sneaking suspicion that the deeper meaning of a literary text keeps escaping you. In this practical and amusing guide to literature, Thomas C. Foster shows how easy and gratifying it is to unlock those hidden truths.

Story
We’ve all seen the memes that populate the internet: live your truth, follow your heart, you only have one life to live. They sound nice and positive. But what if these slogans are actually lies that unhinge us from reality and leave us anxious and exhausted? Another Gospel? author Alisa Childers invites you to examine modern lies that are disguised as truths in today’s culture. Everyday messages of peace, fulfillment, and empowerment swirl around social media. On the surface, they seem like sentiments of freedom and hope, but in reality, they are deeply deceptive.

A man of reason and vigorous discourse, and a renowned professor of literature and philosophy, C.S. Lewis, always "Jack" to family and friends, never shied from intellectual debate, and through his written works encouraged others to wrestle with the difficult questions of faith. A master of visual illustration and allegory, Lewis wrote with the intuitive understanding that his readers wrestled with the same questions about the Christian story, about pain, suffering, and notions of Heaven and Hell, as he himself had wrestled.

When is a story more than just a story? When does it become a myth? When it holds a piece of truth about our history, our morality, and the cosmos. Throughout history, humankind has used stories to explain the unknown. From the cycle of the moon to the changing of the seasons, tales about supernatural beings and events have served to account for the purpose of the cosmos. But mythology isn’t entirely fiction. Isaac's journey started with an attempt to separate religion from conspiracy theories, but the agenda clearly showed a connection. The question to be considered is if the agenda of the Illuminati overlaps with the tenets of the occult and whether or not there is an evil influence at play.

Story
Erich von Däniken again shows his flair for revealing truths that his contemporaries have missed. After closely analyzing hundreds of ancient and apparently unrelated texts, he is now ready to proclaim that human history is nothing like the world religions claim---and he has the proof! In History Is Wrong, von Däniken takes a closer look at the fascinating Voynich manuscript, which has defied all attempts at decription since its discovery, and makes some intriguing revelations about the equally incredible book of Enoch.

Story
Everybody has one. It's called a "haunt detector". It's the little alarm that goes off in our heads whenever we detect that something mysterious or supernatural has occurred. You could be sitting around relaxing, and for no special reason you start thinking about someone. Then the phone rings; you pick it up, and amazingly, it's that person! Many of us have experienced this phenomenon. What is it? Anthony DeStefano answers this compelling question in his fascinating new book, The Invisible World.

Story
When Lucy Mangan was little, stories were everything. They opened up new worlds and cast light on all the complexities she encountered in this one. She was whisked away to Narnia and Kirrin Island and Wonderland. She ventured down rabbit holes and womble burrows into midnight gardens and chocolate factories. She wandered the countryside with Milly-Molly-Mandy and played by the tracks with the Railway Children.

Story
Frank Schaeffer has a problem with Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, Dennett, and the rest of the New Atheists—the self-anointed “Brights.” He also has a problem with the Rick Warrens and Tim LaHayes of the world—the religious fundamentalists. The problem is that he doesn’t see much of a difference between the two camps. As Schaeffer puts it, they “often share the same fallacy: truth claims that reek of false certainties.

Story
In The Bible’s Cutting Room Floor, acclaimed author and translator Dr. Joel M. Hoffman gives us the stories and other texts that didn’t make it into the Bible even though they offer penetrating insight into the Bible and its teachings. The Book of Genesis tells us about Adam and Eve’s time in the Garden of Eden, but not their saga after they get kicked out or the lessons they have for us about good and evil.

Story
Japan is a single nation, but its origins are so old, and often, so fragmented, that unified mythology and folklore can be difficult to point to. Still, there are some key texts, tales, and characters we can focus on which will give us a pretty good sense of Japanese mythology. In this audiobook, you'll discover stories of mystery, horror, and romance while simultaneously learning about the Japanese culture.

IIlliterate man thinks magic is real.
I expected this to be a magic bad Jesus good rant going in, but this is just sad. It is clear that he has not read the books from his worse than awful synopsis of the beginning of the first book, nor does he even know the proper order of the books in the series; even leaving out the chamber of secrets entirely. this is nothing but a 2 hour strawman argument wrapped around a slippery slope fallacy. I had at least hopped for this to be the book he "wrote" and not some sermon on why kids don't read the right kind of books his narrow mindset allows.
The dunce can't even say muggle propperly.

Religious opinion book
This book was basically a religious study of the book. The recording was lack luster and choppy. If you want to know how Harry Potter is evil, compared to the Bible, this is your book.

STOP
I honestly got this because I thought it would be funny but its really just a sad sad man that believes people are not smart enough to differentiate between reality and fiction. This man makes his money by praying on the fears of his followers :(. plus I can't take some seriously that can't pronounce JK Rowling and muggles correctly!!!

pointless....
I listened to the sample...As far as I can tell he's just pissed that it made so much money. Hello the series has gotten more kids and adults to read than any other books have. It has put money in the pockets of everyone from the people who make the books and DVD to the workers in the theaters to book store workers and toy companies.. How is making money a bad thing..after all its the whole reason we wake up in the morning....get a life dude...and a job..

Crazy man
This man couldn't even pronounce muggle correctly and completely missed the point of Harry Potter, love conquers all. He focused way too much on fictional magic.
