About this listen

Can he crash his way into her cynical heart?

As the owner of Pie in the Sky Tours, Jaxon Wheeler loved flying tourists over the beautiful forests of Daniel Boone National Park. He's great at his job. But at promoting his business? Not so much. To avoid bankruptcy, he needs help from a clever advertising agent.

He doesn't expect that help to be Lena, his sister's college friend from Brooklyn, the one who drank too much and called him...that doesn't matter. She hates the outdoors and flying, but she's hotter than an August day in Kentucky. How's a city girl supposed to do anything for his business? And how's he supposed to ignore those luscious red lips?

Lena Bosko just landed a great new advertising job, but her first client is none other than her friend's brother, Jaxon, the guy she'd once called...well, that doesn't matter. She can help turn his business around, but first, she'll have to go flying with him - and she's terrified of flying.

What could be worse - air sickness in a combination hot air balloon and death trap or losing her heart to a country boy?

A cynical Brooklyn girl clashes with a stubborn country boy in the second book of this hot new series from award-winning author Mysti Parker and coauthor MJ Post! Each book is a stand-alone listen with no cliff-hangers and no billionaires. HEA guaranteed!

Fly Me to the . . . Park?

The second in a series of novels pitting City versus Country, acrophobic Brooklyn moves to Daniel Boone country and encounters an airborne tour guide. With dysfunction in common and a certain somewhat raunchy humor (ADULT!) will there be takeoff? While the characters from one book flow into the next, each stands alone--capeesh?

UPDATE for Audio--Hot Air or Steam Heat? Sandra Parker's narration superbly brings to life the incongruity of Brooklyn (in all its vowel-chewing nasality) meeting redneck central (softly drawled or with harridan shrieks as appropriate). Caution: Explicit sex.

Enjoyed it even more the second time around!

Fun and Flirty!

Mysti Parker and MJ Post wrote a great story. I love how opposites attract. This book pulled me in immediately with Jaxon and Lela. I am partial to City meets country stories, and find this series has great chemistry. Sandra Parker did a great performance with this book. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Enjoyed the story but not a fan of the narrator

The narrotor did not do the best job in my opinion. She made the female mc annoyingly obnoxious instead of funny and fun type of obnoxious. and I know the difference between the two because I am obnoxious and people find it funny not repulsive. I had a hard time relating and connecting to the characters and scenes because of the narrator's performance was flat. I have read other books by these authors but with different narrators and I enjoyed them a lot. but with this one, during some scenes that should have been hot that were written to be hot were somehow made plain boring and monotone because of the narrator. the story was good but the narrator took the life out of the book.

****** Possible Spoiler Alert*****
my only issue with the story is the male main character got on my nerves sometimes because even though the female main character was really putting herself out there he just kept blowing her off for, in my opinion, stupid reasons. I was thinking no wonder he is single. he didn't have any real hangups to love he was just wishy-washy. I think the writers could have took a little bit more time to do a little bit more character development to make his hang ups credible instead of wishy-washy.

overall I'm giving it a four out of five because it's not the writers fault the narrator didn't knock it out the park but I am deducting 1 star because the main male character needed further character development in my opinion. the story will probably be more enjoyable in ebook or print than it is with this narrator.

Another great read for the series

In this second book of the City Meets Country series we go to the country. Lena, an advertising professional moves to Kentucky and officially meets Jaxon, owner of a tour by air company and older brother to one of her friends from college. As the story progresses they have to overcome some serious misunderstandings, avoid anymore foolhardy plans to catch each others attention and just let nature prevail and shine through. The narrator was spot on with her delivery of dialogue and interpretation of the characters. I'm eagerly waiting for the next one!

Loved the storyline and characters. Narration enriched the story! Can be enjoyed standalone or as part of a series

Fun series!

This is my third book I've listened to in this series. I have really enjoyed all of the stories, but this one wasn't my favorite. I really didn't like the character, Lena. I honestly had a hard time with the narration. It was just a bit too abrasive and maybe a bit of a forced accent. I did like the narrator's voice for Jaxson though! I also enjoyed Jaxson's character and the story itself, but just needed to have a bit more chemistry for me (and a more likable female).

It was okay

I liked the narrator EXCEPT for her impression of Lena which is unfortunately one of the main characters. I get that Lena is from Brooklyn, but did she have to be so obnoxious? I loved the storyline and Jaxon was great. I just wished Jaxon and Lena had more chemistry something was just missing.

High on you

Book 2 in the series. I wanted to like this one more than I did. I think the narration had a lot to do with that. Narration for Lena was good in my opinion because Lena is a NY girl, but I couldn't get in to the voice for Jackson unfortunately. Narrator was pretty dramatic during the general narration times as well. The storyline was good though. I was glad to see Lena's story.

Jaxon and Lena

Book 2 of this series continues with fun chemistry and crazy antics for our next couple, Jaxon and Lena. Lena comes to Kentucky to work for her best friend's brother, Jaxon. Jaxon owns a balloon ride company and is struggling, so with some creative marketing, his hope is that Lena can help with is success. Coming from Brooklyn, Lena is nothing like the country girls. She is loud and aggressive, not afraid to speak her mind and has caught Jaxon's eye. Mysti Parker and MJ Post write fun, humorous stories, and this one does not disappoint. From the first time these two meet prior to Lena coming to Kentucky, to their balloon ride, we have witty banter and flirty exchanges. But with this, there also vulnerability of rejection and fear of commitment. The intricacies of balloon flying also was interesting, something I enjoyed learning about! I loved the journey these two characters took to find their happily ever after.

Sandra Parker is good with the narration, her pace is even, and her voice for Jaxon and supporting characters was wonderful. Her voice for Lena is a little too abrasive, and not a great Brooklyn accent for my liking, but the book is a fun, story and looking forward to more City meets Country!
