About this listen

Sarah Douglas is a successful thirty-eight-year-old romance novelist with big problems. She's come to Scotland on a three-month working vacation hoping to recapture her muse - who's deserted her - and resolve the issue of her strange 'feelings' - the ones which allow her to sense the emotions of everyone she touches. From the moment she arrives, however, her problems only intensify. She's being stalked, but by whom? Is he real or only a figment of her imagination? What about the darkly handsome owner of the cottage she's leasing? How is she ever going to deal with her growing attraction to a man ten years her junior? She knows from bitter experience men - particularly men who look like Ian - aren't interested in women like her.

Ian McCullough is neck-deep in troubles of his own. As a half-mortal descendent of Faeries, he's a Guardian, sworn to protect both the mortals of this world and the Portals leading to the Faerie Realm. After six hundred years, he's confident he knows what to expect in just about every situation and exactly how to handle it. But he never counted on a woman like Sarah showing up in his life; a woman who intrigues and charms him. A woman who turns out to be of Faerie descent herself, although she has no idea of her heritage and no belief in any Otherworld beings. When he's assigned to protect her, Ian finds the job is tougher than he could possibly have imagined. Oh, he can handle the stalker and the ex-husband and even the renegade Faeries trying to kidnap her for their own purpose. It's falling in love and forsaking his status as Guardian, a position he swore to honor at his father's deathbed, that he's having trouble with. Both Sarah and Ian struggle to battle the demons of self-doubt and their individual pasts. In the process they learn that healing will take the strongest magic of all, the true love that occurs only between two souls fated to be together.

Great Book-can't wait for #3

Melissa Mayhue you are a writer I look up to. I have enjoyed reading both books(1&2). I thought your stories are ones I will remember and want to read again. Heartwarming love story, adventure filled and the Fae's magic--how could anyone resist. I am addicted and need my next book--please say it's soon. Forgot to mention- Narrator, Elizabeth Wiley, did an excellent job. Your story became alive with her abilities.

Great Twist On Time Travel

Any additional comments?

There are 8(eight) books in this series. Will Audible by chance be obtaining the SIX missing books????

fantastic second installation! very yummy....

I was delighted to see the second book in the daughters of the glen series. I have to admit tho' that I had some lingering doubts as to how well a second book could be run off the first one without ruining one to create the other... Well I couldn't have been more wrong. The individual threads were woven into a wonderful story that absolutely shines.
References to the first book were minimal but easy to identify.. I often think it takes a special author to figure out how to pull it off. weaving in details we need to know without it being a plug for the previous book (s) in the series is a art form all its own. I see it as grabbing threads or strands from above, as if the first story is hanging above you and a tug here and there to weave in those strands seamlessly, blending yet coloring, tugging things together artfully with tiny knots and shades of remembrance. Ok, I know I am getting carriedd away but the blending was so artfully done that I really feel that expressing that to you says something very good about Melissa Mayhues works.

Credit worthy? YES YES YES!! If you like a hunky highlander with some heartfelt lust, emotions stirred to where they bubble over, a plot with sumptous twists and turns and intrigue. Well..... yes!

Elizabeth Wiley did a wonderful job with the narration. Her characters come to life, they are individuals, distinguishable, with their personalites clear and unmistakably theirs.

Would I recommend this to a friend? , duh NO DOUBT!

Romance in the Fae Realm ;-)

This second book of the "Daughters of the Glen" is a great addition to the series. Without giving too much of the book away.......the story follows Sarah Douglas, a romance writer, through an adventure of self revelation. She discovers she is part Fae with "sensing" powers. Ian McCullah, who is half Fae, is a "Guardian" and begins to protect Sarah from the "bad guys". Their love blooms into a sensual journey that is exciting, sweet, sensual, and romantic.

This is a fun sexy Scottish adventure full of twists and turns. It is a nicely written tale with delightful minor characters that are captivating, endearing, and (some) threatening. The narrator did a wonderful job with each voice.

I recommend this book....especially if you've read the first book (Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband).

AN 'AUTO DOWNLOAD' SERIES FROM NOW ON

Unlike book 1 this listen is set in present day Scotland where we first meet Sarah a 38 yr old Author with writer's block but all that is about to change when she knocks on the door of the owner of the cottage she's renting and comes face to face with an Adonis. Ian is 28 handsome, drool-worthy and totally out of her league..... well that's what she thinks.

Ian, a thoughtful, kind, sexy hero, has been a half Fae Guardian for the Portal for 600 years and never before has he been so tempted by a female. There's instant attraction and sexual chemistry but Sarah doesn't feel worthy of Ian's attentions and there's the 10 yr age gap too but the more Ian gets to know her the more he discovers and likes about her and he finds himself being drawn in. Sarah has secrets - when she touches someone she can feel their emotions, feelings and can tell if someone's telling the truth or lies but she doesn't realise she's half Fae too and is unaware she has far more abilities yet to be discovered.

This is a well-written, exciting, realm building story that is full of colorful characters, both evil (Nuadians) and good Fae, it has a great evolving storyline which has twists/turns, surprises, secrets, a nasty ex husband, magic and dreams with hidden messages. There's action, sex, romance and heartbreaking decisions which results in nothing but heartache for the two lovers. Dallyn, the Fae General, is funny, entertaining, cryptic with his clues and tries desperately to save the two soul-mates but it's stronger magic than his that is needed - true love and sacrifice will be needed.

Amongst the many characters that fill this enchanting, enjoyable and captivating book is a little boy who tries to tell Sarah that she's just the same as him - half Fae, gifted and he attempts to make her believe in the unbelievable. But it's this skeptical attitude that finally will be Sarah's downfall and until she can believe in the Fae realm she and Ian will never get their HEA ending.

Worth a credit? As a PNR lover this ticked all my boxes and drew me right in until it's eye-opening ending so YES very creditworthy and I can't wait to see what Ms Mayhue has dreamed up next. This is very much like Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series which I loved and there's ALWAYS room for more series as good as that one in my Library.

great series

I couldn't stop listening, the narrator was great and so was the story. Unfortunately the epilogue didn't say whether or not Sara became a guardian or even if she became immortal like her husband. This was the 2nd book in the series but there was no connection to the 1st, not even a mention of characters from the first one. I hope there will be a 3rd and that there will be a connection to this one. I would like to hear more about Sara and her new powers.

surprisingly excellent

the only complaint I have is the story ended. I loved it right down from the story to the narrator.

Great story, terrible narration accents

This could of been amazing. The narration got worse and worse. Sad really! as if the accents got further off track.
