Publisher's summary

Seoafin Wilde was taught by her parents that every breath was a treasure and to seek every adventure she could find. She learns this lesson the hard way after they perish in a plane crash. When she discovers there’s a parallel universe where every person has a twin, she finds a witch who can send her there so she can see her parents again.

And have the adventure of a lifetime.

Upon arrival in the winter wonderland of Lunwyn, Finnie realizes she’s been played and finds herself walking down the aisle to wed The Drakkar.

Instantly thrown into inauspicious circumstances, with years of practice (she did survive that elephant stampede), Finnie bests the challenges and digs into her adventure.

But as Frey Drakkar discovers the woman who is his new wife is not Princess Sjofn, a woman he loathes, but instead his Finnie, a free spirit with a thirst for venture just like him, without her knowledge, he orders his new bride bound to his frozen world…

Everlasting.

Kristen Ashley is a rock star!

Such a rich vibrant new world. It's such an awesome blend of the modem with almost a historical novel feel with the addition of magic and dragons. Perfection!

✫✫ 4 Stars ✫✫

I went into this book with no expectations and no idea what it was about, just a recommendation from a friend. In the very very beginning I was confused, I restarted this book about 10 times without finishing chapter 1 because I was sure I was missing something or just distracted but when I finally just continued past chapter 1 still clueless, chapter 2 explains it and It was like a light bulb went off for me. I enjoyed this book, it was very original and the world building was perfect. Some fantasy stories spend more time world building than telling the story but this author actually uses the story to help build the world for the reader. I really like Finnie, she was modern, sassy and fearless. Frey is alpha but he has a really big soft spot for Finnie and he is really great at trying to understand and see things through her eyes. I loved how much he really did keep in mind where she was from and the way he explained things to her without her asking. The ending was a little predictable for me but still enjoyable none the less. I will be continuing on to book 2, can't wait to see what's next for these two.

The narration was great. She did a great job at accents considering this takes place in a world that is completely fantasy. Each characters has their own voice and that really helped keep this story straight for me.

cute but toxic

love a toxic guy but... Frey was so wrong yet Finny not only forgives but tried taking the blame. wish the heroine didnt do that, it felt so toxic and brainwashy. I'm not buying the "its normal here" excuse when multiple ppl tried to get Frey not to do awful things but he did them anyway. He sucks and had no real consequences. ugh really wanted to love thid book.

Decent

It’s a surprisingly amusing story and the readers voice makes it easy to listen to. My only qualm is the over use of the word “freaking.” I think it dumbs down the book unnecessarily. Frays voice is a tad overly raspy and comes off cheesy in parts but overall it’s palatable.

Frey and Finnie

The story is complex, filled with action, adventure, court intrigue, and romance. The characters are multi-layered. Frey is an incredible Hero. His sweetness toward his "Wee Finnie" is incredible and countered with his high handedness and selfishness. Finnie is one of the most optimistic, adventurous and genuine characters I've seen in a long time. She sees life as an opportunity to have an adventure and for making friends. It is meant to be lived to the fullest. She does just that with Frey and he opens his world to her and in doing so opens her heart to him. The depth of their relationship is profound. The side characters are not to be overlooked. They are bright and colorful, adding to the story without taking over the Hero or heroine. This was a hugely satisfying book.
Highly recommended series and author

Audiobook: The narrator does a decent job of clearly enunciating and most of the voices are well done.
