It's knot funny, it's fate.
Former foster kid Beckett (Beck) Smith is 31 and has never had any reason to think that he's anything other than human. But meeting Oliver (Ollie) Grayson in a club stirs something primal inside him, creating a desire that can't be ignored. Learning that Ollie is an omega wolf shifter isn't a deterrent, not when he can't keep his hands off the young, vibrant, sexy man. And it's all going great until his body changes at the most unexpected and awkward moment. (It's really not funny, fate!)
Suddenly, Beck discovers that he's not as human as he believed. Furthermore, it turns out he's an alpha in a world where alphas are thought to be extinct. Then there's also the fact that he's somehow mystically bonded to Ollie. It's a lot to process. Don't get him wrong; Ollie's a great guy. He's gorgeous and smart, and his obsession with all things Christmas is stupidly endearing, but Beck hadn't exactly planned to commit to the guy for life.
However, when Ollie's pack threatens them, Beck will do anything to keep his mate safe even if it means putting his own life on the line.
His Alpha Unlocked is a sweet, instant attraction (fated mates) romance.
It IS an mpreg, and it does contain violence, threats, kidnapping, anxiety, controlling families, and some mild angst. This book contains elements suited to listeners over the age of 18.

There were a lot of elements that came together to make this such an intriguing story. I particularly appreciated the scientific details that were included about shifter biology, as it lends an air of believability to a fantasy world. I can’t wait to see where things will go with the alpha and omega designations as the series continues.
Zachary Zaba did an excellent job on the narration, as always. I first started listening to books he narrated a few years ago and have always loved the sound of his voice. His inflection, tone, and voices are spot on and he really brought these characters to life.
This book contains a lot of things I expect from Anna Sparrows. It’s a well-written love story with some angst and suspense, and of course, an HEA. I’m looking forward to a continuation of the series and seeing where she will take things next.
An intriguing new world

Great plot, rough edges

I am a person who needs stuff to make sense and so much of this didn't. In this world you have male omegas who can get pregnant. I assume the hormones released into their male bodies would be different from those released in a "normal" female. So why is he acting like a sitcom female with the pouting and crying? Also, if an office opens in his body to give birth why wouldn't it be big enough to ease the baby out without undue suffering? It's not a vagina.
The biggest thing that didn't make sense was the police were never called once and there was no explanation given. Shifters are not a secret in this world. People know what they are and learn about them in school. But when there are multiple kidnapping attempts, including one where a building is demolished, no one thinks about the authorities. This was not for me.
Just bad
