About this listen

Life can alter in the blink of an eye.

My club - constantly under siege by the Italian mafia. My city - in a war lasting two generations caused by our fathers.

Yet, in amongst the turmoil, I met her. In a froyo store.

This sassy woman who's ready to throw down and defend her friends against my brothers and me. But we aren't the enemies in this story, and little did she know our chance encounter would set us along a different path.

This story isn't full of partying and fun - it's chaos, carnage, deception, and lies.

War - it's brutal. Can you resist?

Contains mature themes.

I loved the story, very well written. Now, I don't think the narrators did a horrible job, but I wish this had been done in duet because when the narrators did the other gender, it made them seem heartless or whiny.

Great story

I finished the book, it was an easy listen. The male narrator was decent until he spoke the female lines, then he became very whiny and ditzy.

Mild for a MC book

The narration was exceptionally engaging! Both narrators did very well especially Alexander Candece. Each of his characters were distinguishable and made the story come alive!
I will certainly be finishing the series and any other stories by this author and narrators.

Great Story and Narration!

I have to say the only reason I finished this book is because I paid for it. The story line was great and different. I liked it quite a bit. What I didn’t like was the male narrator when reading the female parts. He made them sound like they were whiny. The female narrator was great. She should have read the male and female sides and it would have turned much better. I know I will not be listening to anymore books in the series because of the male narrator or anything others he a part in.

Liked story line didn’t for the male narrator.

This book had a little of everything; suspense, drama, twist, turns, with a romance brewing in between it all. Heeley and Torque have amazing chemistry, their banter was hilarious and entertaining. Alexander Cendese is one of my favorite narrators, love his enthusiasm. Mia Madison was just as great.

I tried, I really did. I just couldn't get passed his voice. I made it to chapter 3 and had to stop. The female narrator was good and the story line seemed promising but no...just no.

His voice killed me!

I kept thinking it was going to get better… but it didn’t. The main characters voices were tolerable but all the other voices were cringeworthy.

Boring

The male narrator made everything an exclamation. His female voice was atrocious. He did a really good job with Lin though.

The book didn’t have an ending. The MMC literally said “it’s not love yet, it’s too soon for that” in the last page of the book. There was an epilogue but it was club related not relationship. It was a set up for the next book. I know they have another book later but they are married in that book. We don’t get to see the in between. Not good. I like the story that was there though.

Narrators were terrible
