"Nine Lights over Edinburgh". Plain bad. Annoying narration matched equally annoying story. Unhuman amounts of schmaltz. Skipped some parts toward the end. --
"I Heard Him Exclaim". Real good and cute one. Great narration. --
"Icecapade". Best among the stories even though Robert sounded a bit off inho. --
All in all, a good buy since stories #2 and 3 make up for #1 and 2

All the narrators get 4 stars. They were all solid even if the stories were not.
This was definitely not my favorite holiday anthology.
Mistletoe at Midnight
3 Stars
A story about a second chance with first love. I liked it and thought it was cute.
Nine Lights Over Edinburgh
2 stars
I have to say this story was not very festive. In fact, McBride is an extremely unlikable character. The only saving grace was Tobias.
I Heard Him Exclaim
2.5 stars
A chance meeting that leads to an adorable romance.
Icecapade
2 stars
Noel an ex cat burglar is has a thing for FBI agent Robert Cuff. After one night together he can't seem to shake him. After quitting the business and keeping himself clean for 8 years an unexpected visitor arrives on his doorstep.
It was short and ok. Not big on the romance in this one.
Interesting choices

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely. These stories are classy well-written stories. I have Icecapade (last story) and loved it. The others are just as goodWhat other book might you compare His for the Holidays to and why?
I would compare it to a series of books by Andrew Grey (Uncorked & Bottled Up).What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
Very good. Brought the different characters to life!If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

the narrations are indeed all good, if not awesome. as usual, jack lefleur excels.
all stories are entertaining, heart warming and unusual.
yes, harper fox is long, dramatic and convoluted, but at least it shows that if he gives up his arthur-and-the-round-table-knights obsession, he can write quite well.
no, there are no surprizes, no cliffhangers, no mysteries - it's a CHRISTMAS ROMANCE antology!! sometimes you like to read (hear) a story for the craft of wordsmithing. and there is no one better than josh lanyon for that! though both za maxfield and lb gregg are giving her a good fight in this anthology. all the stories are creative and give good modern spins on age-old stories: santa has a red car instead of nine reindeer and has to comply with artificial imaging stereotypes; cinderella hides crimes not poverty, and leaves behind a mystery, instead of a glass slipper; snow white is another prince not princes, and the evil step-mother is a bigoted father; and the poor trying-to-please-everyone-and-failing-miserably antihero that everybody can't help but love despite their better judgement, finally decides to be true to his own heart.
I heard these stories as very witty, very delicate parodies of "all the known tropes" heavily mixed with modern satire.
definitely a very smart gift for the holidays ;-)
enjoy!
