Publisher's summary

Return to the magical world of Nevermoor, where Morrigan Crow's adventures continue - a perfect gift for all book lovers.

Morrigan Crow and her friends have survived their first year as proud scholars of the elite Wundrous Society, helped bring down the nefarious Ghastly Market and proven themselves loyal to Unit 919. Now Morrigan faces a new, exciting challenge: to master the mysterious Wretched Arts and control the power that threatens to consume her.

But a strange and frightening illness has taken hold of Nevermoor, turning infected Wunimals into mindless, vicious Unnimals on the hunt. As victims of the Hollowpox multiply, panic spreads. And with the city she loves in a state of fear, Morrigan quickly realises it's up to her to find a cure for the Hollowpox, even if it will put her - and everyone in Nevermoor - in more danger than she ever imagined.

Brilliant!

I am fully aware that this book was not written for me. But I LOVE it! I listened to the first one under the guise of looking for books for my students to read but I am now hooked! I've listened to all three twice and I CANNOT WAIT for the fourth! I'll probably do another relisten before it's realease.

A great storyteller!

I, as probably many others, started my «reading career» with the Harry Potter series, and though the Nevermoor series bare some resemlense to the boy who luved I’d rather focus on the way the author tells her story. I have read alot of books, both in this genre and others, and what I always come back to is the realization that as long as the story is good it sort of excuses the author’s ability to write it. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mean the author’s are bad storytellers, but after reading J.K. Rowling Harry Potter series, a standard was set. Until I read tmthe first Nevermoor book I’d never thought I would get the same feeling as with HP. The way Jessica Townsend portrays her characters and surroundings is by far the closest thing to Rowling I’ve ever come. But don’t take this as an HP copy, but as what it is: a great story magically crafted!

Please give me book 4! 😍

I just loved this book, the Nevermoor-series never dissapoints! You get to follow Morrigan training the wondrous arts and blossomimg both as a teenager and Wundersmith! So exciting. Kadence is as amazing as ever and always make me smile, and we get to know Jupiter on a much deeper lever aka a more multifacited/complex Jupiter. I was very fascinated about the Wunnimals and love how the story tackles racism in a very good way. I've always believed fantasy is one of the best ways to enlighten important topics. I also wanna say that this series is for all ages, I am 26 and love it! Cant wait for book 4😍

A lengthy tale with pieces of gold here and there

My feelings and thoughts regarding this book strongly resemble my love/hate- relationship with season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer; There is a Wonderful MC, a great cast of characters, lots of fantastic dialouge and sarcasm, a much appreciated f/f romance rep, some really lovely magic, a couple of teary eyed moments, even parts written so well they gave me chills, and several amazingly enjoyable individual episodes (chapters) along the way. But the overarching themes and the direction this story took didn't ressonate with me. The construction of the main plot was perhaps even weaker than that of Rowells The Chamber of secrets. And even Gemma Wheelans brillant narration of this audiobook could not make up for how off the pacing was, or how not interested I was in hearing about the splatting of giant bugs, and removing monsters from the sewage. The very lenghty length of it all did not help ,either. Several chapters just felt like unnessesary filler-fluff.The last chapter was so well written, but in my opinion, it took us way too long to get there. Wundersmith was a five star read for me,so it is quite dissapointing to give Hollowpox a mere three and a half stars. But I am still very hopeful about the next book in this series. Jessica Townsend: I have faith in you!
