Publisher's summary

Shortly after a crowded New York-bound flight takes off from Stockholm, a bomb threat is found onboard. Anonymous hijackers demand that the Swedish government revoke its decision to deport a Moroccan man. If their demands are not met, the plane will explode if it attempts to land.

The US and Swedish governments must choose between negotiating with terrorists in order to save the 400 passengers held hostage at 30,000 feet or to stand their ground and pursue the deportation of a possibly innocent man. But they soon realize that the plot behind the hijacking is far more complex than anyone initially thought. As the hours pass, the team is running out of options, and the plane is running out of fuel....

Don't waste your credit!

I purchased this a long time ago and couldn't finish it because I just didn't care about even one of the characters. The only reason I finished it now was because I ran out of credits to purchase something new and interesting. I don't know much about languages and accents, but I think the narration was distracting and terrible.

Narrator's Plummy British Accent does't work here

Would you try another book from Kristina Ohlsson and/or Justine Eyre?

The Kristina Ohlsson books are thrilling enough to keep my interest while in transit; this narration was abysmal as the attempt at a Swedish accent was a failure and all the male characters - American and Swede - sounded oddly the same. I had difficulty finishing this book because of the narrator who should stick to British romance novels.

What did you like best about this story?

The premise of the story was believable and the characters were well developed

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Justine Eyre?

ANYONE

Did Hostage inspire you to do anything?

Besides complain about the narrator - no

intricate plot, best Novel so far in series

Ohlsson character Frederica has changed careers and meets the most complex puzzle spanning Sweden, United States, United Kingdom and Germany. I had to carefully follow many characters while diving deep into international politics post 2000- 9-11. I look forward to audible gaining publication rights for additional English translations.
