About this listen

Chloe

Finding an empty foil packet in my husband's jeans wouldn't have been surprising - if we'd actually used those in the last decade.

I gave up everything for him and in return, he betrayed me in the worst way.

Sliding down a stripper pole five nights a week isn't exactly my dream job.

But I did it.

For him.

With my life in shambles, I have to find the strength to start again.

Rhys

The very last thing I need is a distraction in the form of a feisty, curvaceous stripper.

When her version of a lap dance catches more than just my attention, I have to see where she leads me.

It can't be forever.

But whatever it is - I'll take it.

For now.

Wow ok so wow 🤩 😭🥰🥰

This book was so good:
1) it gives you more than you think which who doesn’t love a book that has true depth
2) it’s so emotional in all ways.
3) surprised by how much I love these characters all of them
4) the ending: im down right a sucker for a good ending but this was fantastic. All good books have good endings. Even if you cry.

Seriously though you should give this incredible story a chance because it’s so beautiful.

Oh my gosh, this was sooo good!!!

Audio: Narrators - Savannah Peachwood & Troy Duran

Oh my gosh, this narration was absolutely amazing! I loved the book sooo much but holy heck, the audio takes it to a whole new level. The narrators do an exceptional job of both male and female voices, which sometimes can make me cringe. Not so here. There is also a young girl included and they nailed her voice as well.

Book:

Holy hot dogs and smores!!! I absolutely LOVED this book. Not only is this the very best of Ms. York’s work, it takes first place on my favorite books for the year!! I loved everything about these characters. There are no words to describe how much they squeezed themselves into my heart and have set up residence there.

Despite being in need, Chloe was one tough heroine. She was strong, resilient, and determined to make the most out of her life amid the troubles she had been dealt. I loved that she was a great role model for her daughter even as she worked a job that most would judge her for. Her heart was so big. She freely gave to those around her exhibiting the characteristics that I admire the most in others.

Rhys was the most perfect hero! Initially, he was the big hot shot character that makes you want to smack him a time or two even though he’s sexy as sin. But as the story unfolds I began to see what he was really made of, what was deep inside, and holy heck did I love him. He was amazing! Then to top it all off, the author gave him the opportunity to experience some jealousy and allowed me to watch him self detonate as he’s dealing with his emotions regarding it. Want to know what makes me happy? Exactly that. I was a puddle of romantic love and unable to stop reading.

This was well written with a great pace and nothing to bog it down. Filled with so many instances of laugh out loud moments, swoon worthy actions, and scenes that had me in tears, it’s no wonder this book is my favorite! The chemistry between Chloe and Rhys was Kindle melting good and completely believable. There was just enough drama and angst to keep the story moving forward while not overwhelming me. Add in those jealous possessive moments and I’m emotionally twirling with happiness and adding this to my must reread shelf!

Chloe and Rhys

This was a really good Hero Club book. Chloe left her cheating husband after find a used foil wrapper in his pocket. He was a real bastard and I am so glad she took their daughter and left him. They move in with her friend Kendall and Carter (the pilot), who are expecting a baby. She meets Rhys when she goes to a meeting to discuss one of her elderly friend’s care after she broke her hip. Rhys is her son. He was a handsome cardiologist that women wanted wherever he went. At first he was not likeable but soon, he was so loveable. They end up together but Rhys is determined not to have a relationship. He doesn’t want anything permanent and he has a very good reason. He freaks out when Chloe goes on a date with someone else. Chloe’s daughter, Maya, was adorable. The end of the book was both happy and very sad. You could not help but shed a tear. This one of my favorite Hero Club books. Troy Duran and Savannah Peachwood were outstanding narrators.

Great Story!

This is my first Hero Club book and my first time hearing Savanah Peachwood. She's great, a terrific complement to Troy Duran! I enjoyed the book very much, it flows wonderfully! I was engaged throughout; both narrators added so much emotion and made me feel I was part of the story every step of the way. That's my favorite part of listening to audiobooks, becoming so immersed in the action and all that the characters experience.

The voices for the characters were perfect and the story kept me guessing and caught me off guard in a great way a couple of times. My favorite chapter was Chapter 39 or See Ya on the Other Side. It's incredibly touching, full of depth, meaning, grief and hope, and Troy delivers it all beautifully. If you haven't heard Troy before, you owe it to yourself to listen to everything of his you can get your hands on! My only regret with this book is there aren't more chapters told from Rhys' point of view; I can never get enough of Troy's voice. He gives every performance his absolute best!
