“Eggers imagines emotionally and symbolically resonant scenes as well as any of his contemporaries, and this collection has several great ones.” ( Booklist)

Brilliant Narration

Dave Eggers collection of stories are beautifully written scenarios of how we ache (hunger) as life pulls us along our individual journeys filled with twists and turns. The densely woven characters are brought alive by the brilliant narration of Dion Graham. This book is a perfect marriage of lyrical, visual writing and of narration that fully embodies each and every character and moment painted by the author.

normal but weird

The writing is hypnotic like PK Dick on a good day. I like the Quirks. Dave has been criticised as being unmemorable, this was my first experience of his writing and months after I can clearly remember some of the stories. Perhaps he is more suited to short stories...but I'm going to check out his longer works anyway.
The horses are cool.
