Publisher's summary

If you are self-employed, part of the gig economy, or work as an independent contractor, this is the book for you. Avoid trouble with the IRS!

Many (newly) self-employed people are confused about what self-employment tax is, if it applies to them, or how and when it's supposed to be paid.

If that's you, this is the book you need. It's free from IRS jargon and complicated tax stuff. Inside are practical steps written in plain English with real-life client stories, plus examples of what to do and what not to do. The 10 tax tips inside have been tested by thousands and they work. Readers and reviewers consistently comment, "I wish I knew this when I started my business." This stuff isn't taught in business schools, and few are going to take the time to read it in IRS publications.

Kristine Stevenson, EA is a Personal Finance Coach and IRS Enrolled Agent. She spent years working at the IRS learning the inside systems and talking directly with thousands of angry, scared and confused self-employed people helping them understand 'what went wrong' with their taxes. In addition, she is the radio host of "Dollars & $ense" with Kristine, a weekly on-air radio program based in Central Texas where she takes live calls from her listeners and talks about tax and personal finance issues. Kristine specializes in personal and small business coaching, plus her work in the tax resolution industry negotiating tax debt settlements with the IRS.

If you are self-employed and want to avoid trouble with the IRS, this is the book for you. This book gives you the rock-bottom basics of the tax information you need to know and have. By following the simple tax tips described inside, you can save yourself thousands of dollars in tax and penalties and avoid many sleepless nights.
