About this listen
12 immersive and original sound meditations for reflection, solace, joy and bliss from the creator of the hit podcast GABA.
Head up phone down. I am here to teach you how to bliss. To simply be. To be as happy as a kiss.
How to Bliss is a meditative spell that is designed to instil within a sense of bliss. At its heart unfolds a simple philosophy for life; that everything you need to feel happy and content is already contained within you.
The book can be enjoyed in its entirety, as a lyrical fable for finding happiness. Or you can choose to return to your favourite chapters as a guided meditation.
Through Adam’s unique blend of electronic soundscapes, sounds from the natural world, poetry and storytelling, this is next generation meditation as you’ve never experienced it before.

Accompanied in just being
I love the GABA podcast and thus want to spend all of my time with the dulcet sound of Adam Martin in my ears. I listen to so many other mind and body guided meditations, relaxing stories to help you slumber, and audiobooks. What makes "How to Bliss" different is that it feels like a respite from "trying to relax". Instead, Adam invites you on a soothing audio journey that never asks you to "do" or "try" or "concentrate" in an effort to attain relaxation. The journey is the relaxation and if your mind wanders, you miss nothing and can easily interlace your inner meanderings with his wilderness of wonder. I can imagine that he had less opportunity to sample outside audio clips for the book vs. his podcast, but his sound design mixing skills are still evident. My favorite tracks were "Buzz Cuddle Welcomed" and "The Shimmering Blue Cat," but I usually just listen to the whole book and let it wash over me because even if I fall asleep or stay awake, I end up feeling restored.
