About this listen

Howards End is a novel about social conventions, codes of conduct, and private relationships in turn-of-the-century England. It also showcases differences between the middle class and the poor, while weaving a complex story of relationship amongst three families belonging to three different classes of pre-war England. Howards End is considered by many to be E. M. Forster's masterpiece.

This is only 11 chapters of the book. What happened? A waste of money. Ugh

This is not the entire book. I’m not sure why it stopped here, but this really was a waste of money. I should have read the reviews first.

Didn’t go past 11

Love the story but had to return this audio book and purchase the book read by Emma Thompson. This narrator had an American accent, but read the dialogue in a poorly done British accent and kept switching back and forth between accents. I’m an American and it was very annoying. Also, the sound quality of the recording was very echo-y and sharp - hurt my ears to listen. Got to chapter 4 and said no more. Emma Thompson’s voice is music to my ears.

Unable to listen to narration

the narration, to my ear, sounded amateur. as if it was an acting assignment for class credit or something. found it hard to follow the story I was so distracted by the narration. sorry I paid for this.

I am going to have to actually read this book

Very disappointed that this reading ended at Chapter 11. Is there a plan to complete the reading?
