About this listen

Welcome to the family business.

Hunter Hunterson and his kin live in Slayerville, KY, making their living chasing crack-smoking ogres, peeping-tom phantoms, bail-jumping zombie pimps, and the occasional rabid unicorn. When a methed-out vampire (and family friend) goes on a road-trip rampage, Hunter and his kin pack up the truck and follow the trail of corpses all the way to San Francisco.

This reality-TV style story feels like a combination of Dog the Bounty Hunter meets Ghostbusters meets The Beverly Hillbillies. Hunter's war journal is a mix of tawdry laughs and gut-churning horror.

different and fun

When I read the title of this book I was unsure if I would like it. It turns out I love it, and really want a sequel. Scott Sigler got all the emotions right, and made me cry.

Deinitely a fan!

Been a fan of Hunter Hunterson and Sons since the start. So much so that even though I have these stories in print I got the audio book anyway. Glad I did!

Great continuation of the HH&S short story

First off, let me say that this was a really fun book to listen to. The HH&S short story was great to begin with so making a whole book out of it makes perfect sense. Scott Sigler is one of those rare Scifi writers who also happens to have an amazing narrator's voice. I understand his motivations as to why he couldn't narrate every single one of his books. To do it right, it would definitely take time away from writing new material. However, it is always great whenever I come across one of his books and realize he is also the narrator. Anyway, this is a very entertaining book for sure. if you want to know more about the HH&S story, look up the short story online. It should be under his Bones are White short story series or the Blood is Red series. And Scott, if you ever read this, please publish The Crypt and make into a 3 part series, at least. I have been waiting for that story since 2011 man! haha.

Redneck-Funny (I created a new term)

I enjoy this author so much... I’d try basically anything he serves up. Was not disappointed: EXCEPT - it’s under 4 hours long.
I could have probably listened to these stories for another 10 hours.

So beware if you need a companion for a trip across country... you’ll need a backup.

Some of his best work.

Please add more war journal entries to Audible, and please continue to narrate your own work.

Better than the first time!

I had heard the stories of the War Journal before they got that name from the podcasts. Loved it just as much this time. Scott is an excellent author, an incredible voice actor and the consummate storyteller. I look forward to anything that man puts out for the fans. I hope more volumes make it to press.
