lack of research

just a few things..... the author doesn't know much about guns or military. He commonly uses "clip" for magazine and they are not the same. He takes away the keys to the humvees when military hummers do not have keys. little lazy fact checking or proof reading by someone who knows something about it just seems like it would be a good step for any writer. Go sit in a humvee, fire a weapon, do some research.

other than the little stuff, it was ok..... I'm not going for the next one though.

Sad follow-up to decent first, terrible narration

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narration was awful. That's really being too nice. It was worse than terrible. There was almost no feeling in what was being read, and I quickly became convinced that the narration was occurring during his FIRST read-through. Not only did it do nothing to convey the feelings of the characters, it was riddled with staccato stops and starts, with odd pauses. This was very hard to listen to, and awfully distracting.

If you’ve listened to books by Jason Halstead before, how does this one compare?

This was my first Halstead listen. I read Wanted myself, and enjoyed it enough that I jumped on Ice Princess (2) and Bounty (3) as soon as I found them available with Whispersync for Voice, although I was disappointed with this book in relation to the first one.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

His odd timing, stops and starts, very poor choice of which words to emphasize, and lack of expression pretty much ruined the audiobook for me.

Was Ice Princess worth the listening time?

No, I would've rather read it myself, alas I use it to pass the time during my commute as I was driving.

Any additional comments?

Please consider letting this narrator make his living another way.
