Very enjoyable

A good mystery, thought provoking & well written!
In this book the new reader is better suited to the Kate character than in the previous two books in this series.
Her voice & presentation are more believable. Good addition.

Wow that was a bit of a shocker, in a great way.

I have listened to 3 of the books now and heading to #4. I absolutely LOVE them.

I respect Kate

I just love Kate...she is so real. I like the way she works so hard without expectations and ultimately she is rewarded. Someone could/should make a movie series of these books.

Fast paced fun procedural...

I've just completed the three books (so far) in the Kate Wise series. I hope there will be more! These are very good procedurals involving a 55 year old retired FBI agent who has returned to work following a year of retirement. As with many retirees she is unhappy with her sedentary lifestyle following an active career. When given an opportunity to return to work on a contingency basis to close out an unsolved case she jumps at the opportunity. Each of the three books in the series are either closely or directly related to cases she had worked on during her career.
These are well written procedurals that move along at a fast pace. My only complaint would be that the books could be a little longer and the protagonist fleshed out a bit more. However, if you're looking for a nonstop fast and fun investigative procedural this is the series.
Narration is excellent.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

If She Saw

I thought the story line was rushed, so much of he personal life left out.

Needs new narrator

The narrator truly makes or breaks a book. This series really needs a new narrator. Too often, she sounds like she’s reading. She doesn’t bring the characters to life, it kind of feels like the story drags.

Needs new narrator

The narrator in the first two books was excellent. This one, however, is horrible. She sounds short of breath when narrating, never able to say more than a few words without pausing. It makes the story sound choppy and no one speaks in real like with those little pauses in whatever they say. She also just reads without changing her voice for different characters in the story so it’s harder to follow who is speaking in the story. Very disappointed listening to this, and alas, she seems to be narrating the rest of the series.

Needs a better narrator

The story line was certainly good, however, it felt like Parts of it were rushed and pieces of the story were skipped. It didn't make sense that the "director" would get so upset over a small situations, pull Kate from the case and threaten to fire Kate. I did not care for this narrator's performance in this book or the last two. they could use lessons from Julia Whelan on how to bring the characters to life.
