Knowing her God was bigger than any cancer, ten-year-old Christina faced this tremendous obstacle with unwavering faith and a smile in her heart. There was no room for anger, and the question “Why me?” would never be asked. Instead, this diagnosis was answered with “Use me. Use me, Lord, for Your Name and Your Glory!”
There was no coincidence that Celeste Bowers would be blessed with gifts of writing, teaching, coaching, making people laugh, and being a mom. All these gifts held crucial roles when her ten-year-old daughter, Christina, was diagnosed with cancer.
If There’s a Mailbox in Heaven, these letters are what Bowers would send her daughter. Take the time to unwrap every package bundled in love and filled with life lessons, and be forever blessed! Celeste’s own testimony lives on through her second book, When Your Voice Became Mine: There Is a Mailbox in Heaven.

Celeste Bowers, the author and narrator of this book, is the mother of Christina Bowers, who passed away at the age of 10 from a long battle with cancer. This book is a beautiful celebration of the life Christina led and all the people she touched along the way. Through the everlasting love of Jesus Christ and having faith in the Lord, Christina took on this battle with all the grace and gusto she could muster, without ever losing her faith and encouraging others to walk in the light of the Lord.
If There’s A Mailbox In Heaven is a collection of letters that Celeste has written to Christina up in heaven. Celeste packages these letters up into sections that are memories of Christina’s life and experiences. Each section has a story/meaning or lesson held within it that is full of encouragement, love, support, and how God works through us all in different ways.
While listening to Celeste narrate this book, I felt like I was a part of the memories she chose to write about and share. I laughed, cried, felt overwhelmed, and found myself cheering Christina on when she threw the first pitch of the softball game. I found myself admired the strength of this 10-year-old girl that chose to pick up her cross, have faith in her Lord, and never wavered in knowing that God had a plan for her. This book was a beautiful way to remember and honor Christina, the life she lived and all those she inspired and still does to this day.
I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. I listened to the audiobook that was narrated by the author, Celeste Bowers. This was a powerful way of hearing the story. I got a sense of the emotions and feelings behind the letters Celeste read. While this book had a big focus on God and faith, I would recommend this book to anyone that has suffered a loss. The messages are ones of hope and finding joy after our loved one is gone from this world.
I did not find any negatives about this book. To me, the nature of this book spoke to the love and life of the author's daughter. It honored her memory as she lived and how she touched those in her life. I cannot say if this book was well edited because I listened to the audiobook format. What I can say is that the author's word flowed throughout her narration.
Heart felt emotional dedication to a bright spirit
