If you could sum up In Death Ground in three words, what would they be?

The narration was great and it was a well developed story. I plan on getting all the books in the series.

incredibly well written. narration and plot develop characters and a sense of yriumph or loss when something happens. the sense of scale and impending doom is etched into the plot and its a ride. a real ride.

I've been hooked on Weber since "In fury born". Love his mix of military science and the occasional sprinkling of fantasy.
This one doesn't have the fantasy element but as usual, was a fantastic listen!

Haven't disliked a Weber book yet!

The story was very detailed. You may need a notepad to keep up as you listen to the details of the various engagements to truly appreciate everything. I thought the narrator was a little dry at first but he did an excellent job overall I think it was a great fit.

Long but Good

David Weber and Steve White have created a second installment for the Starfire series. Believable action, reactions, and consequences which even the main actors can't escape. So good I just purchased book three in the series.

They did it again, a great second title

Narrator gives an excellent performance for this entertaining story with lots of characters (perhaps a few too many too many). Lots of action!

Pretty good!

Where does In Death Ground rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was very impressed by the narrator and his ability to bring the different species to life. It was a really well done performance. The book is very engaging and I enjoyed the space battle aspect of it.

What does Marc Vietor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

His ability to make the alien species stand out. Very impressive.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No it's a long book and at times heartbreaking to read. With it's long campaigns and the battles that are won and lost you need to time in between.

Any additional comments?

One of the best audible narration performances I've heard.

The audible is very impressive

What did you love best about In Death Ground?

Detailed Battles, but not to the extent where it become repetitive. A use of past tense to cover some battles is refreshing.

Which character – as performed by Marc Vietor – was your favorite?

He has some excellent voices for many of the characters.

One of my favorite all time military sci-fi
