National best-selling author Tiffany L. Warren has garnered popular acclaim for her tales of hope and inspiration.

For many years, 17-year-old Zenovia has had to care for her schizophrenic mother Audrey. That’s why she is pleased - at first - when the Brethren of the Sacrifice show up at her door, offering to help her. After she and Audrey join their congregation, Zenovia begins to fear for her mother’s safety when the brethren encourage Audrey to stop taking her medication.

Only GOD can judge us!

I enjoyed this book because it helped me understand the mind of people who are in cults or organized religion that find ways to control the people who follow them. Sometimes I would find myself saying why can't these brotheren folks just think for themselves or I would find myself like Z saying who do they think they are to be able to judge anybody. One religion that I would like to compare the brotheren to would be the Church of Latter Day Saints and this is not trying to be offensive to any LDS followers. I lived in Logan Utah throughout my college career (USU representing the c/o 2005) and the main religion in Utah are the "Mormons" to me it seemed as if they were so worried about what other people thought of them. Mormons/Brotheren are/were good people with great morals but if you can't live your life without worrying about what others think or how they will judge you what are you truly trying to grasp from the religion? These type of religions feel as if they have the right to condemn you if you make a mistake. Does it really matter what other people say? That's a question for all and your answer is what it is. The narrator did a great job with this selection and I liked the overall message of the book because it made me think about religion and my own beliefs. I believe in prophetic gifts because I am a dreamer myself and my dreams have come to past quite a few times or are messages to people I know. I thought the characters were well defined and brought to life by the narrator and I would refer this book to anyone who wants to find an interesting read about religion.

Taught me so much more about mental health

This was a riveting story that focused on faith, the future and mental health. I learned so much more than I thought I would. It is very obvious that this was a topic that means something to the author. I appreciated the details, and I learned so much!
