About this listen

Are you prepared for a return of prolonged ‘70s style stagflation? Where and how should you invest? Can Inflation actually be your friend as you grow your wealth? Who benefits during this wealth transfer?

Dr. David Phelps examines inflation throughout history and the factors driving inflation today and explains why the government needs inflation to fund its reckless borrowing and nanny-state promises. While many are unprepared for inflation and its devastating effects, Dr. Phelps exposes how the Great Wealth Transfer has begun and the proven steps you can take to protect your wealth.

Untreated, inflation is a disease that wreaks havoc on investments and retirement plans. As listeners will learn, many investors and advisors have never dealt with inflation and are woefully unprepared to navigate the storm. Journeying through the '60s, '70s, and '80s, you will learn what worked and what investments failed during the "Great Inflation". With this knowledge, you'll be able to develop a strategy and implement a plan to weather the storm.

The good news is that inflation can be your friend, not your enemy! By preparing and taking action, you can position yourself to take advantage of the situation and propel your financial future by using the inflationary waves to push you forward.

In every situation, there are winners and losers. This next inflationary cycle will be no different.

Dr. David Phelps, DDS, began his investing career in 1980 when inflation was running at 14.7 percent, and his mortgage on his first investment property was 13.5 percent. He has lived and invested in alternative forms of real estate for the last 40+ years through various market cycles and provides readers with a game plan and strategy to keep up with inflation's devastating effects.

Professionally, he owned and managed a private practice dental office for over twenty-one years before his daughter’s health crisis served as a dramatic wake-up call in his life. David’s “Plan B” portfolio of cash-flow producing real estate assets gave him the Freedom to sell his practice mid-career and focus 100 percent on what matters most—time.

He is the author of From High Income To High Net Worth, The Apprentice Model, What’s Your Next? and Own Your Freedom: Sustainable Wealth for a Volatile World.

David is a nationally recognized speaker and founder of the Freedom Founders Community, providing a proven process to true freedom for professional practice and small business owners.

Another excellent book by Dr David Phelps!

When Dr David Phelps writes a new book I make a point of reading it. I devoured his previous books “Own Your Freedom” and “From High Income to High Net Worth”. This book, like those is excellent! Amazing insights from an experienced investor who has been through a few different market cycles. Highly recommended! Read this!!

Timely and powerful advice!

I had the opportunity to read this before it was released and I have to say this will be one of the most important books you will read this year. We are currently facing runaway inflation and it's only going to get worse in the coming years, so it's critical to know what you need to to to prepare for and adapt to the new economy.

Dr. David Phelps is one of the smartest people I've met when it comes to financial topics, which isn't surprising considering how many people I know personally who he has helped to become financially independent.

This book explains exactly what's going on in the economy in a way that anyone can understand, and he lays out a clear and detailed roadmap on exactly what we need to do to grow our wealth despite the out of control inflation in a way that anyone can follow.

Buy this book. You'll be happy you did.

Dr Phelps does it again

Dr David Phelps is always on point. He’s constantly looking for ways to help others in growing, finding their way, and succeeding.

In such trying and complicated times it’s a blessing he has taken the time to help us once again.

A right wing pro Trump screed

I was looking for an objective history and economics based approach to understanding inflation. Instead I get a right wing political rant—and for some reason Audible won’t let me exchange it or get my Audible credit back.

Marketing material - no valuable information

This book contains some history on inflation. If there's any value in this book it's there, but even that's not particularly insightful or worthwhile in my opinion. The author also attempts to include strategies for combating inflation as part of your personal finance plan. The overall strategy is basically summed up as own real estate. However he does a poor job distinguishing what types of real estate might be a good investment and he doesn't really provide any information on how to make wise real estate decisions (e.g. metrics for evaluating rental properties like the 1% rule are not even mentioned).

Instead of providing any actionable information in this book, the author constantly plugs his "Freedom Founders" investment group. Providing testimonials and his phone number multiple times. To beat inflation and invest in real estate you need to pay him apparently. This book wasn't meant to teach anyone anything, it is marketing material.

Lastly - the recording quality is POOR. I've listened to 100+ audiobooks. Never have I heard someone pause and repeat parts of the same sentence multiple times (this happened maybe about 20 times). YOU CAN TAKE MORE THAN ONE TAKE! It's an audiobook lol. Very poor (if any) editing.
