About this listen

The Adderhead - his immortality bound in a book by Meggie's father, Mo - has ordered his henchmen to plunder the villages. The peasants' only defense is a band of outlaws led by the Bluejay - Mo's fictitious double, whose identity he has reluctantly adopted. But the Book of Immortality is unraveling, and the Adderhead again fears the White Women of Death. To bring the renegade Bluejay back to repair the book, the Adderhead kidnaps all the children in the kingdom, dooming them to slavery in his silver mines unless Mo surrenders. First Dustfinger, now Mo: Can anyone save this cursed story?©2008 Cornelia Funke (P)2008 Listening Library Fantasy Fantasy & Magic Fiction Royalty

Enchanting

This story is such a fun one. I read the first two books years ago and just found out that the third was out. The read's voices are perfect. When he switches characters there's no question who is talking. It's a great listen!!! I highly recommend it.

Do NOT read book three first

Books one and two are entertaining, enough so that they made a movie of book 1. Book 3 is dark and brooding, so much so that no movie of it has bothered to come to screen.
The switch of narrator was a great move, but I wonder why we get the bright and cheery "This is Audible Kids" jingle then sink into the dark, brooding woods. Read this book only if you want resolution to the story, although one can wonder that as the in-story author has lost control of the in-story story, is resolution possible.

As a word of warning, as all the names, monikers, and motivations swirl, it is possible to get lost in these woods.

Amazing trilogy

What an imaginative world and story. Takes me away from the everyday stresses for a break into my imagination. I get to create my own visuals. Unlike movies where someone else shows me what the people & places look like.

Inkdeath(unabridged)

Found this a very entertaining conclusion but will miss the characters a great deal after listening to the entire series. Thanks for a wonderful adventure in light hearted reading.

Best one out of the 3

Great, story. Best one out of the 3. A little darker than the others, but a great story with a great ending.

Good listen

Good conclusion, It's not a s young-child friendly as Inkheart, but now it was more Moe's story than Meggie's. Preferred Brendan Frasier as a narrator though (Inkspell).

There is magic in words.

Very satisfying. Take the trip to a world where written words do battle with fate.
