About this listen

A vicious attack at a ranch in California thrusts archaeologist Erin Granger back into the fold of the Sanguines. Following the prophetic words found in the Blood Gospel, Erin must join forces with Army Sergeant Jordan Stone and Father Rhun Korza to discover and protect a boy believed to be an angel given flesh. But an enigmatic enemy of immense power and terrifying ambition seeks the same child, not to save the world, but to hasten its destruction. For any hope of victory, Erin must discover the truth behind Christ's early years and understand His first true miracle, an event wrapped in sin and destruction, an act that yet remains unfulfilled and holds the only hope for the world. The search for the truth will take Erin and the others across centuries and around the world, to the very gates of Hell itself, where their destiny, and the fate of mankind, awaits.

Critic reviews

"Fans of THE DA VINCI CODE will find much to admire in Christian Baskous's narration of this religious thriller, complete with an angel on earth. Baskous's voice has a raspy quality that heightens the adventurous mystery at the center of this sequel. He manages capably with archaeologist Erin Granger, making her academic credentials believable with a voice that sounds intelligent and measured. Confident in his style, Baskous transitions easily between dialogue and accents for characters and the narrative of high-action sequences." ( AudioFile)

Both the Blood Gospel and Innocent Blood. He is great.

good storyline

I've enjoyed the series thus far - down to the last book. The only thing I have not liked is the narration. I always hate to critique a narrator, because it just may be a particular series. Unfortunately, in this case the narrator does not make the book ... only the storyline keeps me coming back. Not sure I would have kept on listening if this wasn't a series.

Love it!

I am loving these Sanguine vampire priests! They are so awesome! I love the personality classes of all of characters, and how their difference make the narrative work.

I am looking forward to the next installment!

Attention Grabbing

Would you consider the audio edition of Innocent Blood to be better than the print version?

This book kept me engaged, which is sometimes hard to do since I have a short attention span. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Genre Train Wreck...but fun

I have listened to both books in this series and will buy the next installment(s) as well. The story is expansive seeming to encompass every myth and religious icon in the Judea/Christian history. The characters are engaging if a little slow to learn and the narrator does an excellent job with the notable exception of his Russian/Hungarian accents that seem too close to B movie vampires. A good listen for anyone interested in a fast paced story where history, thriller, and fantasy genres get in a train wreck and walk out smiling.

Edge of my Seat mystery!!

Excellent, compelling, interesting story! Read book 1, but really enjoyed listening to book 2. Definitely kept my interest. Can't wait to "listen" to book 3.
