Publisher's summary

With practical teachings and detailed instructions, Ken Wilber introduces Integral Mindfulness, a new way of practicing the widely popular meditation. Integral Mindfulness applies many of the leading-edge insights of Ken Wilber's Integral Theory - the first system to combine Eastern teachings on the five stages of awakening with the eight major Western models of human development, thus portraying the complete path of human evolution. In addition to all the benefits to body, mind, and spirit that standard mindfulness meditation confers, practicing Integral Mindfulness promises a more powerful approach to personal transformation and brings within reach the fullest experience of Enlightenment possible.

Beginning with as little as 15 to 30 minutes of daily sessions, the meditator can gradually expand from there by slowly and easily adding significant aspects of the practice. Meditation instructions and step-by-step guided contemplations are given in detail. Listeners learn how to create a graph to track progress and discover natural strengths and potentials. The book also offers recommended readings and resources to facilitate further study.

Filled a gap

I've read Wilberforce before, and, this was the first time I found the practical application of both the "waking up" and "growing up" to be clear and coherent. This likely has more to do with me than the writing, Ken is always brilliant. I'm am leaving the first reading if this book with a sense that I know I can be living at the forefront of humanity, and have a map to know what that looks like ad where I am in the process .

"Necessary but not Sufficient"

it was quite challenging to go through this book. I love Ken Wilburys work, however I don't feel that that was one of his brilliant books.

the book however does take you through a series of meditations from an internal perspective that's suppos to help you grow up and move up through structure stages. and towards the end can gives a bunch of example where integral perspectives and practice could be applicable in daily life and even relationships.

Good summary of Wilber's work and applications

I have been following Wilber's integral paradigm for a while. If you have too, I believe the single-most important contribution of this book is outlining the integral mindfulness practice for each stage in each quadrant, mostly UL and LL. This unto itself is worth the 💰. The rest will be a reiteration of what you've heard and read many times already, but in one of the most accessible languages I've seen it—even easier than in A Brief History....

If you're not familiar with Wilber's work, interpret the rating as all 5s, purchase this book, and listen on, as you're in for quite a ride...

Integral is now.

Discovering Integral is something everyone should have exposure. Ken Wilber can be difficult to read but always worth it. Just do it.

Challenged

The title is compelling. I can't get on the same wavelength as this guy. This is not for the average reader or Meditator.

Ken Wilbert's worst book

I admire Ken Wilbert's work but this the most boring exposition I have ever encountered of his brilliant legacy.
Do not waste your time!!!!!

A Complex Approach of Ageless Wisdoms

I love Ken Wilber and all the research work he has contributed to the field of Thought. However, this soul compilation of material is too mental for the average listener seeking simple, integral meditation techniques.

I highly recommend this book for researchers, philosophers, psychologists, and business leadership. Or anyone who enjoys a technical, and academic approach to integral consciousness.

It is more helpful to follow ancient spiritual technologies, principles and wisdoms then levels and lines. I would recommend listening to Kosmic Consciousness over this book.

It is my hope that he releases a simple version of the integral theory that supports human development through a more organic approach that follows principles of the ageless wisdom.

Our expansion of consciousness does not have to be this complicated. Too much academic research and theory dilutes the simple truths of ancient wisdom.
