About this listen

When war shatters London, personal tragedy sinks Kate into darkness. As she struggles to rebuild her life and find redemption, she stumbles upon treacherous secrets—secrets that place her and those she loves in peril against malevolent forces.

Born into the Scottish working class, Kate McLaren is a servant in a wealthy household. Young and ambitious, determined to rise above her station in life, she moves to London, marries, and seeks her place in society.

When her life becomes entangled with the wealthy co-owners of the shipping company where her husband works, Kate suffers from jumbled emotions and crushing guilt. Then World War I comes along and changes everything.

Evolved Publishing presents a glance into Great Britain of the early 1900s, where the lives of the working class and the wealthy elite intertwine. Vanish into this historical novel, and share the love, pain, agony, and delight of those trying to make their lives against the backdrop of the Great War.

“If readers are expecting a simple love triangle here, they’ll quickly find that Fink’s story has much more to offer. Fancy cars, espionage, and even morphine addiction wind up playing roles in a narrative that, much like Kate, keeps rushing forward, no matter what obstacles are in the way.” (Kirkus Reviews)

“If you loved Downton Abbey, you’ll devour Invisible by Day.” (A.C. Fuller, author of the Alex Vane Media Thriller series)

Rollercoaster of a story with captivating narration

Invisible By Day is quite the journey through post World War I Britain, as told by a woman trying to find her way in a world that’s between the traditions of the past and a more equitable future.

The story is even more though, as it regularly left me surprised and tracing back past chapters for subtle hints.

The audio performance adds a beautiful layer to the story, as the characters are well thought out and the acting is brilliant. Grace Gray is able to help even the most subtle characters come to life while keeping you fully enthralled with the primary characters.

Overall a very engaging read, that’s seems very true to the times.
