About this listen

Everyone expected Violet Sorrengail to die during her first year at Basgiath War College – Violet included. But Threshing was only the first impossible test meant to weed out the weak-willed, the unworthy, and the unlucky.

Now the real training begins, and Violet’s already wondering how she’ll get through. It’s not just that it’s grueling and maliciously brutal, or even that it’s designed to stretch the riders’ capacity for pain beyond endurance. It’s the new vice commandant, who’s made it his personal mission to teach Violet exactly how powerless she is – unless she betrays the man she loves.

Although Violet’s body might be weaker and frailer than everyone else’s, she still has her wits – and a will of iron. And leadership is forgetting the most important lesson Basgiath has taught her: Dragon riders make their own rules.

But a determination to survive won’t be enough this year.

Because Violet knows the real secret hidden for centuries at Basgiath War College – and nothing, not even dragon fire, may be enough to save them in the end.

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

Wow...

The graphic audio makes these books even better. Voice acting is typically spot on and gives more life to these characters. The story has continued to hook me in and I can't wait to see what is in store for them in the next book after the cliff hanger they left us with

Excellent storyline and exceptional graphic narration. Can’t wait to hear where this storyline goes in the next book. Counting the days until its release!

The voice actors do such a fantastic job making this dragon tale come to life!

music choices

There were some questionable music choices in there. It really distracted from the story and sometimes the kissing scene sounds were a little corny. Other than those two things I really enjoyed it!

Cast was amazing

Great story, would have liked more battle scenes and less interrelationship drama. Great plot and amazing characters

The ending was so powerful

The chills, the tears. Love it. This is my favorite way to listen. Bummer that it takes 2 credits per book, but it’s worth it

The characters, the story. Ugh.

I am a mood reader and I read for vibes and feelings. The writing doesn’t have to be exquisite if I’m enjoying the plot. I appreciate a book that I can have a good time reading, where I can feel connected to the characters, and can make me feel so much emotion. I sobbed at the end of the first one, I sobbed at the end of this one, and I am excited for the third book release in January. I’m not sure how I feel about that ending or where they plan to go from here but I am excited to see where it goes.
