About this listen
AI is the trendy new tech of the 2020’s and holds the promise of power and fortunes yet untold… and where there is lust and greed, there is their old companion… murder.
America’s got a new pet serial killer. A killer who travels the inland waterways from Chicago to Florida, leaving a wake of blood behind. But the Loop Strangler isn’t your ordinary psychopath – whoever he or she is they’ve set their sights on small software firms and their founders.
Fearful that they’re next on this maniac’s hit list, several AI developers hire Scott Jarvis. They want a seasoned, battle-hardened private investigator to protect them and their livelihoods. Jarvis dives into a dangerous and convoluted mystery where kidnapping, midnight shootings and deadly stalkers lurk around every corner. A journey that takes him across Florida’s beautiful waters and into mortal peril.
Soon, Jarvis runs into some old companions and what at first seems like simple industrial espionage gone bloody could have devastating international consequences. Now the clock ticks down and a deadly killer chases Jarvis and his clients on land and at sea.
Can Orlando’s master private detective unravel the mystery before he’s drowned in blood?
With the many series I’ve listened to, you expect a clunker. However, with Scott W’s books, they don’t exist. This one is a true page-turner. I don’t know what it’s like to read these books, but with Dave Anderson’s performance of Scott’s writing, it is pure pleasure. This Scott Jarvis novel was just as exciting, if not more so, than the first. I recommend you listen to them in order; they do build on each other.
I don’t know how the Scott Cook books are rated nationally, but if you are not reading/listening to them, you need to be. Can’t wait until the next!
