About this listen

This is the audiobook version of the 50th anniversary edition of the definitive biography of the life, ministry, and influence of Dr. J. Gresham Machen.

Machen was the foremost defender of orthodox Christianity in the early 20th century, critiquing the drift of theological modernism into unbelief.

Machen fought for the historic Christian faith in a time when many Protestants were abandoning the Bible. Machen founded Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, as well as being instrumental in the formation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Great book, telling of faithful ministerial service to the bride of Christ. Christ saves sinners, a group that we all belong to and need to uphold that good news of the history of redemption.

The author provides a thorough overview of the man and his faith. Although a bit tedious at times, i would recommend this book for anyone interested in about Machen and his stalwart biblical stance against progressive institutions such as the PCUSA, and the reorganized Princeton Seminary.

Detailed view of Machen’s lfe
