About this listen
After his last action-packed case tracking down missing money from his son Joe’s college, private investigator Jamaica Biltmore is looking forward to some much-needed time off in Florida with family and friends close by. But house-hunting with Julie and leisurely days on the boat will have to wait. Jamaica’s friend Gino, a Mafia don, has died, leaving Jamaica a mysterious notebook in a safety deposit box. As rumors of Gino’s connection to certain Russians swirl, someone is determined to get their hands on the notebook, and they’ll stop at nothing to get it—including kidnapping Gino’s son John.
Before long, all of JB’s friends and Joe are helping with the case—Captain Caruso, a friend from his teenage years, Navy companion, and brother-in-law; his best friend Phillip, a world-famous novelist; his FBI girlfriend Julie Waters; and Bill Forester, an admiral in the Navy and friend from Jamaica and Caruso's Navy days. However, there are also a few new characters on the scene whose history with Gino raises more questions than answers.
But the biggest question of all is who wants the notebook and why? And who can JB trust when nothing—and no one—is who they seem?
