Great for review material :)

Very helpful, I can listen to this whenever , wherever I go, especially during my commuting hours! I’m kind of person that easily sleeps when I read a book, so this is a great help, the explanation are a lot easier than Minna no Nihonggo, which I had read a lot of times but still can’t understand it fully. Plus, all the important notes are repeatedly told at the end of the chapter. Thank you so much for this!

A Difficult Language–Too Advanced For This Listene

I have tried to learn Spanish phrases from an audiobook, without much success. This book was even more difficult for me. However, the exercises were simple and presented well. The performance was enlightening.

I believe that if the listener was willing to take the time to take notes, scroll back to go over each exercise until learned And figure out how to put the lessons together, they would have an easier time and pick up the phrases

Well-written and well performed. This listener is not a good student (I was not able to take notes because I do not know Japanese characters/writing) but I would recommend it to everyone who has a real interest in learning Japanese.

One of the best beginners' guide

All content provided throughout this book is extremely easy to understand and follow.

For someone like me who is still trying to learn this language, it covers the basics but also explains the structure of the sentences which really gives you a great understanding!

The audio format also gives it that extra bit making it so much easier to study with as you have someone to follow.

Very well done overall; I love it!

Fantastic for beginners

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have been fascinated with Japanese culture and history since I read Shogun 30 some years ago and on my retirement bucket list is a visit to Japan. This audio book has been a great starting point for me, I plan on listening to it again and again.

Any additional comments?

Phenomenal Japanese beginner book!

This book is by far the best! A gold mine of knowledge!

I am blown away by how much information was placed into this 3 hour long audio book by David Michaels and Ryoko Yasuno.

What I enjoyed the most is how you learn Japanese through grammar, and not by mindlessly repeating phrases over and over. The listener will learn how to create and properly structure his/her sentences after taking the time to truly master the information in this book.

I highly urge the listeners to follow along with the PDF available for this course. If for whatever reason the extra resource can't be utilized, i.e. driving, I recommend coming back to those sections with the PDF handy. This will further reinforce the information being taught.

10/10 I will keep listening to this book and any other book made available by Michaels and Yasuno until I'm fluent in the Japanese language.

What's the Japanese Word for "Firehose"?

This boot camp was about as good as a live language crash course would have been. My head is swimming and I’m not sure how much I’ll retain.

It was well laid out and both narrators did a fine job (English and Japanese). The companion PDF made it easy to follow along and helped it feel like a real, professional course.
