About this listen

Ruth was a pain in my neck when she lived under the same roof at the ranch.

She’s even worse, now that she’s helping my twin brother’s fiancée plan their wedding.

It’s no secret that we can’t stand each other.

And for the next two weeks, if I’m not running some errand for my brother, I’m also hauling Ruth’s stubborn, opinionated, too-loud arse all around town, since her car died on the side of the road. Not that she appreciates my sacrifice. No. She argues. She second-guesses. She pecks.

A man can only be pushed so far, before he breaks.

A fact that Ruth - who I’ve also secretly fantasized about every single night, since the day my brother and I first landed on the ranch - is about to find out firsthand.

Good Entertaining Listen

This was good listen. Predictable and pretty standard if you read a bunch of this genre but a good entertaining story regardless.

Wonderful, emotional read!!

Jeremiah, an Audiobook by Stasia Black is the story of Jeremiah and Ruth. These two can’t stand each other. Then, he is tasked with watching her…and her car dies. So, they are forced together. Things slowly get better! But this is something that can never be, for a variety of reasons. Thing everything breaks loose and things get wild!!!

LOVED this story!!!! He’s so moody and dark…she’s light and sweet…but, has a strength and resilience that can’t be beat! What a wonderful story!!!

This Audiobook was beautifully narrated by Shea Hart. She does a fabulous job of bringing life to these characters, with the feelings and nuances that felt right!!! Excellent job!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

Not really dark but plenty dirty 🤭

This is the first book from the Stud Ranch series I’ve listened to, but maybe I should try reading the rest of the series (read the reviews for the first book and that sounds dark).

The story is more light suspense/thriller but not really a surprise since we now who the culprit is. As for the darkness, it’s more of Jeremiah’s backstory. Maybe it’s because I haven’t listened to the rest of the series that I’m out of context, but the revelation of what happened to Jeremiah seemed sudden to me. It wasn’t really hinted that he’d gone through such a traumatic thing. I’m glad he opened up to Ruth but it was pretty rushed and more told than shown. Overall, it’s a quick fun listen that’s pretty standard with the ranch romance genre/trope.

Jeremiah is a surly macho man and Ruth is an assertive positive person. The two are like frenemies, but they have good physical chemistry and they don’t drag their feet admitting it. Their relationship is fast paced but that just makes for less angst and more sexy scenes. Liked the animal play 🐎

Shea Hart did a wonderful job narrating and capturing the character’s voices, but I would’ve loved if this was a dual narration.

Would be better with added male narrator

I enjoyed the overall story.

I found it difficult to concentrate on the switching POV, since they were narrated by the same person.

I have loved other books by this author and I liked this story. It took me a while to get into it . I think a few reveals could have happened a bit earlier and then the ending would feel less rushed.

Overall, I did enjoy the story and the character development in the couple.
