About this listen

In Jesus in the Present Tense, Dr. Warren W. Wiersbe explores the “I AM” statements of God—from His burning bush conversation with Moses, to His powerful reassurances to the Israelites, to Jesus’s startling claim to be the Light of the World.

Many Christians find themselves mired in past regrets or future fears, but the name of God itself reminds readers that God wants them to live in the present. The more readers understand and apply God’s I AM statements from the Old and New Testaments, the more they will realize God’s peace and joy. Then they will be free to live, serve, and know God more richly in the present tense—which is just where He wants them to be.

Vintage Wiersbe

Dr. Wiersbe takes the reader on a journey of the I Am's of Jesus Christ in a way that makes them come alive. He introduces us to new insights about our Savior. As always he clearly makes the Scriptures come alive. I highly recommend this book.

"I AM," Jesus said, and He IS

Our Lord tells us throughout His Word many of the various ways He works in our lives through the roles He fills: I AM the Good Shepherd, the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the Resurrection and the Life, and many, many more. Jesus in the Present Tense is a wonderful reminder and study that shows us that Jesus is all we need. Warren W. Wiersbe masterfully takes each "I AM" statement and lays it out in a clear, understandable, and thrilling way. Be encouraged by Jesus in the Present Tense. He is not the I WAS; He is I AM!

Wonderful Wiersbe

Warren was an incredible bible teacher. Really enjoyed his wisdom about growing closer to Jesus from a mature point of view in the last years of his life.

This book is for everyone.

A must read for those seeking to know Christ.

I first heard of the author because Dr. Charles Stanley would quote him often. This book uses a great many Bible verses to paint a clear picture on the mind of God so that anyone who comes in spirit and in truth to seek a personal relationship can have access to worship, wisdom, and fellowship with the God of the Universe.
Many good authors write good opinion books on the Bible. This book uses the Bible as an opinion piece on itself. This to a believer like me is music to my ears.

Christian Life in the Present Tense

A convicting and inspiring break down of the names of God revealed in the Old Testament and how Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, fulfilled them in the New Testament. More than just an informative intent, Wiersbe writes this book to inspire and encourage the Christian to live each day in the present. To abide daily in Jesus, following his example, and living up to the name we now carry for the I AM.

Seemed directed toward new Christians

There were some great points in this book and I enjoyed it but it seemed geared toward Christians that were newer to the faith. Most of it seemed like I had heard it before in sermons and other books but their were enough nuggets/gems in there to make it worth while. I had been hoping to go deeper into the theology of the I AM statements of Jesus that clearly communicated to the Jews of his day that He was the one in the burning bush that spoke to Moses.
