About this listen

In a post-apocalyptic world, the earth is divided, and magic rules all, the strongest of which is about to be challenged.

For centuries, Jinn has watched from afar as the powers-that-be fought to claim a part of the world as their own. With no stake in the game, the djinn remained a powerful but neutral party. That was until an old friend presents Jinn with an offer he can’t refuse. The love he thought he’d lost forever is still alive, and he has the map to her location.

Mike wants his people freed from the slums, and Jinn has the power to make that happen. In return for his aid, Mike will lead the quest into the darkest corner of Earth to find her.

With a new player on the field, everyone is on edge and for good reason. Jinn will go to hell and back for the woman he loves, and he’ll destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Jinn is the first book in Djinn Rebellion, a paranormal urban fantasy series by USA Today best-selling author Jessica Cage.

If you like powerful men, second-chance love stories, and epic fight scenes with dragons, well, you’re going to love Jinn. Get the audiobook today, and find out just how far Jinn will go to save the woman he loves!

A djinn searches for his lost love

In a gritty post-apocalyptic world, a genie searches for his lost love…the one woman who loved him for who he is, rather than what he could offer her. Jinn wasted years believing she was dead. One night after hanging out in a bar with a friend he finds out that she is alive. Now, he’s going to get her back.

I truly enjoyed Jinn by Jessica Cage and would recommend it to fans of urban fantasy. I liked the idea of a man looking for his love, and the beautiful backstory of how he met her. There is a unique world with diverse and interesting characters. We have lizardmen, mutants, witches, genies, and fae in this story.

If I had to critique the book, my main critique would be that the narration slowed the story down a bit, even though I can’t put my finger on exactly why I felt that way. I think maybe it’s because this is the first book in the series and we need time to understand this world. There was a lot of worldbuilding, which was needed. I think the narrator did great with dialogue, however. And the story was well written.

Overall, I loved the story. I can only imagine it gets better as the series moves on and we get to know the other characters and world better. I would definitely keep reading the series as the story goes on.

I enjoyed the story not the narrator

It was at times very hard to tell between the heritors. He really could have done a much better job by differentiating the voices.

I'm invested into the lives of Jinn and Nitara.

It's been a long time since characters have captured my heart so quickly, but Jessica's Jinn is a work of artistry that brings a breath of fresh air to the fantasy genre. I wish the other four of the six book series were on audible. I listen to these books in my car, at work, and while doing homework with my kids. I can't wait to read more. -authorsamclark

A pleasant YA Novel

This story was a bit less than expected. Basic, easy to listen to. Not a lot of in depth detail.

Jinn Book Review

The story was pretty good. I liked the fact that it was read by an Afro-American, but you could tell when he wad dping the part a women. Usually multi-csting better. All good story, can't wait to read the next. Worth the purchase!

My new favorite author and series!

This was the first time that I have ever read or listened to a book by Jessica Cage. I was not let down at all. The narrator brought this story alive. I have not read or listened to a paranormal or dystopian fantasy that featured this much diversity. This story was so great to listen to. It is a story about love and how far one will go. Jinn is a genie and he will stop at nothing to find his love. The story features a variety of characters from genies, witches, fae, dragons, fairies and even mutants. We are taken on an interesting journey and learn the backstory of how Jinn became a genie. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Good story, dull narrator.

I couldn’t finish this audiobook so I marked it as finished and will be buying the book itself so I can finish it. I don’t like to be negative towards narrators because I know it’s not easy work, but Kenneth needs to add more to his narration if he’s going to voice fiction. I couldn’t tell who was speaking, what was dialogue and what was action, and his monotone narration made it seem like he was very uninterested in this story. Audiobooks are all about the story and a narrator can really make it or break it. This story is amazing and hooks you in right away, so I hope he works on bringing Jessica’s characters and worlds to life. Sadly, I won’t be purchasing the other other Cage audiobooks.
