About this listen

Booth Pena definitely didn’t make the smartest of decisions when he was a teenager.

At eighteen, he knocked a girl up and signed up for the military all in the same day - signing his life away in more ways than one. Fast forward six weeks and he’s in bootcamp learning that he’s going to be a father while also learning that not only is he going to be deployed, but it’s going to stay that way for a year.

There weren’t a lot of things that the baby’s mother and he saw eye to eye on after that. He honestly wasn’t sure why he even slept with her in the first place.

Okay, that last part is a lie. He knows exactly why he slept with her. Because the real woman he’s in love with, her twin sister, Dillan, won’t give him the time of day.

Five years later, and he still wants her.

Now he’s home for good, being the best father and police officer that he can be, and still he’s not good enough.

Dillan Davidsdottir hated Booth Pena. Immensely.

She hated him because he slept with her sister, then left. Granted, she knew that he hadn’t meant to leave like he did, unknowingly and unconsciously leaving his daughter behind, but that didn’t change the fact that he had.

Five years later, and she still dislikes him just as much now as she did when he chose the wrong sister to take to his bed.

Maybe if he’d chosen her, her heart wouldn’t be broken, and his wouldn’t be untouchable.

But when a SWAT officer sees his life flash before his eyes, and decides that enough is enough, what’s a girl to do?

Give in, that’s what.

Booth and Dillan's story was really great. I loved how Lani Lynn Vale was able to write their history and current situation so well. The narrators did a wonderful job bringing these characters to life.

Fantastic listen!

Booth and Delaney have a son together, but they never really liked each other. Instead, Booth pined after her twin, Dillan, while Delaney wanted his twin, Bourne. You follow so far? Throw in a complicated relationship with the sisters’ father & an arranged marriage and the drama is intense.

Talk about dysfunctional family...

I have listened to MANY audible books, and i cant, for the life of me, figure out why any one would use Stephanie ROSe for a narrator. She is bland, no emotion and sounds like someone making fun of a California cheerleader! She’s HORRIBLE!
It took all of my control not to just pass through the chapters she was reading. I wanted to hear the whole story, but she made it very hard. Sebastian was great though. But he wasnt enough to make me forget how awful Stephanie is. I was a little upset with myself for missing her name on the narration before i bought the book, because i definitely would have not purchased it if i took notice. Any book that she narrates, imo, is a waste of money.
Other than how horrible Stephanie Rose is, the book is great. The story and characters and plot are great. I would have given all 5 stars, but Stephanie rose stole those 2 stars. She’s lucky i even gave her 3 stars.
I love the couple and so glad they finally followed their heart. I felt their passion and love not only with each other but with their twin as well. All of LLV’s stories make me feel like i know the characters and that they are real people. When i watch movies, tv shows or read books, my biggest pet peeve is when the characters are under developed. LLV does great with her characters.
She also does great with her plot, suspense and side characters. I love the interaction with the other characters from the other books. I feel like i am in the story with them.
Thanks LLV for another amazing story.
STOP USING STEPHANIE ROSE

Stop using Stephanie rose please!!! She does nothing positive for the story

I love LLV books, and this book was great. The story was good. Sebastien York was amazing, as usual. I enjoy catching up with the other characters also. The female narrator though...yea I was not liking her. I get bummed everytime I see her name because I start cringing just thinking about that voice. Of course I will still listen to it because you have to trade off the bad with the good if you want something bad enough and LLV and Seb Yo takes away some of the sting.

Great book but female narrator not so much.

I love Mrs. Vales books and generally buy them sight unseen. I adored both Booth and Dillon and am looking forward to the next installment.
I am hoping that we find out what happens to the girls father though. He just kind of fades away without any closure.

I also loved Sebastian Yorks narration. His voice suited the character and made me smile. I do not like Stephanie Roses narration at all. She's done several books and each one sounds like a 1920's movie star vixon. She reminds me of Betty Book and its very annoying. I don't know if she does it on purpose or if this is really her idea of the characters she reads for but it makes it hard to listen to and fully enjoy the story.

Overall though, I enjoyed the book.

Loved it! I think the female narrator was a little stilted but not too bad.

I enjoyed this story once I got past the awkward situation Dillon and Booth are involved in. That being said, I found it kind of hard to listen to when I heard the female narrator. Sebastian York is always perfect, loved listening to him.
