About this listen

Want to know more about history and politics? Then you should probably go and listen to a proper audiobook. Fancy a laugh at some smutty jokes? Then go and read Viz. But if you fancy a combination of the two, this is the audiobook for you.

In Off the Record, bitter and twisted leftie news reporter Jonathan Pie picks 10 of the world's worst wankers and tears them apart.

Here you'll find the answers to some difficult questions. Was Blair just a Tory in disguise? Did Cameron really have relations with that pig? Just how did we end up with President Donald Trump?

It's the ultimate guide to political arseholery. With extra swearing.

Johnathan Pie is terrific and his outrageous observations or spot on. Loved this audio book.

Funny but sadly mostly a true.

The chapter on Trump alone was worth the price. But everything else was brilliant. If you are a Pie fan this is a must!

Only thing wrong was it’s too short

The political satirist tells it like it is; he is uncensored and funny. Worth listening to. He needs to do a second book for 2024.

Jonathan Pie rocks!

I love his attitude and if you get offended by anything he says then you have learned something, about yourself

A great laugh and you might just learn something

Would you listen to Jonathan Pie again? Why?

Yes, especially if at some point he tours the US like he has the UK. Looking forward to the next book, whenever it arrives. While I don't always agree with the politics expressed, his delivery and strong stance on free speech are compelling and delivered in a way that makes it even more palatable to those who might disagree.

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

The thread that runs through this book is that even when people disagree, trying to censor or prevent opinions from being aired is absolutely unacceptable. If they were, we might not this bit of joy that is this book in our currently-dreary world.

What does Jonathan Pie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

It's absolutely essential that you listen to the audiobook rather than read it as Jonathan's (Tom Walker) delivery is crucial to getting the full impact of the humor. Just watch him on YouTube for a great taste of that.

Any additional comments?

The book was too short, even with the bonus material at the end of some chapters, but I don't regret the purchase at all as Jonathan Pie is the kind of humorist we need in these times.

I only wish it had been longer

If you have any interest in how British and American politics have shaped the world, you owe it to yourself to listen to this. Same goes if you just like to hear about the people who did serious damage to the western world being sagged off.

Excellent political commentary

if you're a fan of Pie's YouTube videos, you'll love this. Jonathan Pie displays a vulgar intelligence that is guaranteed to make lefties laugh and conservatives cringe. "Off the Record" is on point.

wickedly funny satire
