About this listen

Thirty-two, a single mom, and her world crashing down around her....

Melissa's 32nd birthday was a train wreck of a day only made worse when she ran out of gas. Not only did she have to go into work, but after coming in late once too often, she finds herself fired. Following her supervisor's suggestion that she look into taking some courses to gain a job qualification that might work better around her children's schedules, she's surprised when the financial aid officer suggests she go apply for the Bride Program grant. After seeing the stipend offered and armed with the knowledge that there is only the remotest of possibilities that she'd turn out to be someone's perfect match, she decides to take a chance....

Junrig joined the Bride Fleet not to find a bride, but to help make life easier for those who did. He knows he's more at home with starship environmental systems than people, and that's okay. His assignment to the flagship of the Bride Fleet means he'd be among the last entered into the matching program anyway, and only then once more of the warriors and support staff on the other ships have mated. The day he is alerted to his match, he's astounded.

Is it all a mistake, or is their melded family's happiness truly written in the stars?

Junrig is the second book in the Mate the Stars series, but can be read as a stand-alone. It is 37,886 words of unabashedly romantic love, with a HEA.

Down on her luck, Melissa is desperate for a change and signs up for the Bride Program grant and surprise - she's a match. Single mother of three it's a whirlwind of a situation but her kids are young and seem to handle it in stride. Junrig is a member of the Bride fleet and had no intention of finding a mate but if working on this fleet you are automatically entered into the pool and is nervous when he finds out he's matched but upon first glimpse both he and Melissa feel a connection. The book goes on and there are some side storylines that don't really seem to pertain but maybe set ups for future reads in the series. It just seemed like there was a lot the author wanted to include and it seems not as well put together as it could have been. Overall it's a good romance read with a HEA and the narration was done well but wasn't really my favorite. Good but not great.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Good pace with entertaining characters and a unique spin depicting the alien men in a positive way. I enjoyed the interaction between Junrig and Melissa's kids.

There are a lot of characters (including children) in this book and Audrey Lusk has done a job on the narration, giving each character a distinct voice, I enjoyed her narration on this one much better than Gundar.

I really enjoyed this book and Junrig and Melissa. Melissa was a single mother of three who only applied to the bride program after she was fired from her job. She hoped to go to school to get a better job, reap the other benefits of the program, and better her life. She was just as surprised as Junrig that they were a perfect match. Her children were very accepting of Junrig. He becomes a true father to them. The story moves along at a really good pace. There is suspense in this book. The bad guys do their best but Junrig wasn’t having it.

I love this world and the characters that Ms. Johns has created and am looking forward to the next book in the series. I would love to follow this couple to find out what happens in their lives. Note that this was not a cliffhanger. My recommendation is to read/listen to this book. You will not be disappointed. I feel that the narrator, Audrey Lusk, improved somewhat since she narrated Gundar. I was given this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This series is still wonderful to listen to. I'm still enjoying the plot of each book.

I enjoyed the narrator this time as she didn't have that strong southern accent going.

I did receive this audiobook for free for my honest review.

Loved the book!!! Good sequel

Junrig is a fantastic sci-fi romance, it's super entertaining with a great plot and engaging characters. The writing is well-paced, clear, and precise. I enjoyed the premises for the storyline, Junrig being matched with a desperate mom and her Children. It worked out great; I especially liked Junrig's interaction with Melissa's kids. This was an enjoyable book, packed with sexy aliens, humor, drama, adventure, and romance.

The Narration by Audrey Lusk is excellent. She does a great job with the different character's voices. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.

I had no expectations of what to expect listening to this type of genre for me but it was FANTASTIC, FUNNY, EXCITING & how it depicts aliens (Mylos) in a positive and unique way. This audiobook gave me hope that Aliens out in Outer Space would be friendly, helpful and welcoming of a different species in the galaxy also. I was fascinated and didn't stop once to take a break because of the storyline, multi-dimensional characters, personalities, differences in both languages (how a typical saying in America is taken literally by the Mylos). It took a little while and new friends on the ship to help Melissa get comfortable with Junrig, then listen to how their relationship grows, develops and morphs into love for all involved. This is an AMAZING, CAPTIVATING, ENTERTAINING book and I'll definitely read/listen to more books from this author!!!!!!!

I LOVED MY 1st ALIEN, FANTASY EXCITING STORY

I enjoyed this story but the narration really put me off finishing the audiobook. She did so many fake voices it became annoying. Nevertheless, the story itself was well written.

Good story, narrator odd
