About this listen

What do you do when your new best buddy has been designated a scourge by the community and marked for imminent extermination? Just ask Kenny Rabbit.

When the simple folks in the sleepy little village of Roundbrook catch wind that there's a dragon running loose in the countryside, they get the wrong idea, and the stage is set for a fight to the death. So it's up to Kenny to give his neighbors front-row seats to one of the best-known battles in history - the legendary showdown between St. George and the dragon - without losing a friend in the fray.

Fantastic Story

Would you consider the audio edition of Kenny & the Dragon to be better than the print version?

I've never read the print version, so I am unable to adequately answer the question.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kenny & the Dragon?

That Grahame's favorite dessert is creme brulee.

What about Alan Cumming’s performance did you like?

His voicing and overall enthusiasm. Alan made the story come alive and I could picture the scenes in my mind as I listened along.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have liked to, but was unable to.

Any additional comments?

Absolutely love and would recommend to all ages.

Adorable kids book

DiTerlizzi does it again with this adorable kids book. Alan Cumming never ceases to amaze me. I thought that Mark Hamill reading the Spiderwick Chronicles was very good but this was next level. Everything I've heard Cumming narrate -- from Shakespeare to memoir to kids book -- has been top notch and this is no exception.

Fun retelling of The Reluctant Dragon

This was expertly narrated by Alan Cumming! His voices were delightful and added so much to this fun retelling of Kenneth Graham’s The Reluctant Dragon. I didn’t know it was the same story when we bought it, and probably would not have bought it if I had known, but I’m glad I did because the kids really loved this version, too! Although the character names are a nod to the original author, I was a little incredulous he want mention

Whimsical Fun!

What did you love best about Kenny & the Dragon?

The narrator filled Tony DiTrilizzies delightful characters with personalities and emotions that made them real to my four children and I as we looked forward to each chapter!

What other book might you compare Kenny & the Dragon to and why?

Having recently enjoyed a community Author Presentation by Tony DiTrilizzi, my children and I have looked up all of his titles. We have also enjoyed reading and listening to his Wondla series and later plan to enjoy his Spiderwick Chronicles. His fanciful characters take a unique twist on our common perceptions as he skillfully writes in the voices of the children he's engaging the interests of.

Which scene was your favorite?

We were particularly tickled by the picture and scene of Graham sticking his massive head in the bunny hutch window to enjoy meals with his friends:)

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes! But it was a joy we looked forward to each day as we waited to listen to a chapter at a time at lunchtime. This allowed my four children to dream, surmise, anticipate and more between chapters!

Allan Cummings rocked this one!

The story is lovely with great characters, which Allan Cummings made all come alive. Graham in particular was wonderful.
