Pastor Evans is a Masterful Teacher! He makes the WORD come alive in his illustrations married to the WORD. You can easily understand and grasp how to apply it to your day to day IMMEDIATELY! I will be listening to it again adding to my notes. This book
has encouraged me greatly to develop and refresh my prayer life with understanding over responding to trauma. I was rejoicing through every chapter!!!

Elevated prayer life

The majority of my life as a believer was filled with repeated phrases and a formula: PRAY - Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield. While that’s wonderful, and Tony Evans’ book speaks of such concepts, he also reminds us that God knows what we’re thinking. So, to try and be eloquent when I’m not doesn’t show humility, but pride.

Another thing I’ve fretted about (and many people do) is the fact that what we pray for is what we want, not what God wants for us, and there’s a big difference! So, what we pray for may not come - at least, not when we want it, but when the Lord does. And Tony’s book greatly puts these into perspective. He also speaks of devotion to the Lord, fasting (not just via lack of food), and abiding in Him. When we abide in the Lord, we’re sure to see His works!

Mirron Willis did a wonderful job narrating this book. At times, I was a bit annoyed at the “choppiness” of his dictation, but, as I listen along to a book I’m reading, it didn’t really matter. What’s fantastic, though, is the emphasis he put into what he read, not at Tony’s level of passion, but well on his way.

I’ll read and listen to this book many times, I’m sure! Well done, Mirron Willis and Tony Evans!

This book has been so helpful. I crave a more effective, personal, productive relationship with Jesus and I believe this book shows me the best path to achieve this goal.

this is an amazing and thought provoking book. Not a "I read it one time and I'm done." This is a book that you will return to time and time again. I think I will go and purchase a hard copy so that the next time I read it I can highlight and take notes. a great look at how to pray, why we pray and the praise that should be found within our prayers.

This book and Audible audiobook combine to make straight the pathway into Prayer.
It’s an easy read chocked full of analogies that bring you from the hotel room looking at Niagara Falls to the place where you are bold enough to experience the Maid of the Mist. You too will learn how to move from standing afar off from the Holy Trinity to pursuing God so close that your cup is running over while dwelling in his presence.
It’s also a companion for a small group Bible Study on Prayer. I highly recommend it.
