About this listen

Welcome to the kingdom of Dresha, where power is everything, and the subjects are used as pawns.

Alyx was not born to be an assassin, but life is hard for orphaned children in the kingdom. With no other choice, she picks up the blade and forges herself into a weapon, becoming part of an infamous underworld gang, the Daggers. Years later, despite her cold-heartedness, she saves a man from a fate worse than death.

That man turns out to be none other than the king.

With his sights set on Alyx and the skills she possesses, he offers her a deal she cannot refuse—pretend to be his betrothed and discover who is plotting to kill him in return for everything she has ever desired.

What the king doesn't know is the only thing she truly desires is revenge.

Kingdoms will rise or fall, friendships will be broken, and truths will be revealed.

Can you survive the Kingdom of Crowns and Daggers?

Meh.. Not My Fave

FMC was great, loved her personality. She was tough and confident and competent. She has fair morals and was a badass assassin with smarts and drive. I pictured Merida from brave the entire time.

3 MMC- Crux, loved him-wish we got more of him, his pov, and his errands. He was a friend to lover kinda trope, and he played it well. Still an idiot for waiting so long but his personality and silliness and protectiveness has me simping hard. Joha, meh, kinda bland character. He was nice enough and the memory abt them meeting as kids was cute. Bodyguard, liked him well enough. I liked his spicy scenes and protective side, it was cute. I woulda been got with just Cruz if this wasn’t an RH (which I love).

Spoilers Storyline is okay, the buildup to the end was interesting and entertaining. The characters had good banter and there was a lot of action. The last 20% is where I kinda fell off. The ending with mommy dearest felt unresolved, the intro with crazy bro came way too late in the story for me to care and his first act was killing her which furthered my disinterest in him. Speaking of, she’s dead for the last few chapters of the book before miraculously appearing to confront her bro. It just felt unnecessary to kill her for a few chapters and listen to her poor guys mourn her only for her to have been saved and conscious (didn’t escape my notice she didn’t inform her men she was alive for like a week??).. like poor Cruz he was ready to drown himself after avenging her like what if she didn’t get the revolution memo in time?? I like that she stayed and they all decided to rule together, wish there was more detail abt the changes being made and a couple more spicy scenes would have been cool.

I kinda liked it, it kept me entertained and the FMC was great but I felt a little empty after the end, like unfulfilled. I love ka knight fyi, I’ve read all her books, this one just fell flat for me. Maybe wait for a sale? Can’t wait for her court of beasts book to come out!!
