About this listen

My job as a SEAL has always been to go in and save the day.
But even heroes fall. Even heroes make mistakes.

My only saving grace was Gin Sullivan.
My knockout best friend who wasn’t afraid to tell me the truth even when it hurt.
She’d pick me up when I was wallowing in my own stupidity.

It wasn’t hard for me to fall for her.
Any man would.
She was beautiful.
She was smart.
She was everything I’d ever wanted.

I had plans to tell her that, squash the pining we’d both done for two years.
But a bullet to the gut silenced me, and Gin got tired of waiting.

Now, I have a new mission, one that I can’t fail:
Do whatever it takes to make Gin mine forever.

Love this story!!

When two people are meant to be together but are too stubborn to allow each other explain anything, you have Dale Hunter and Gin Sullivan. Chelle and Eden do a wonderful job of taking us into Gin and Dale’s story and not letting us go until the last page. Well, even then you’ll be wanting more. This is one I’ll definitely have in in the car for long drives.

The vocal performances were good and mostly fit what I would have expected from the characters.

Frustrating

All the unsaid words were so frustrating in this story line. There’s angsts and then there’s just unneeded frustration. All the back and forth the entire book was so unnecessary. I would’ve given 5 star across the board if there’s was just a little less of the unspoken words in the storyline.

Third in series - Gin and Dale

The assistant and the muscle. Dale's a Navy Seal trained protector, but Gin doesn't need physical protection. Her heart needs guarding from the only man whose broken it more times than not and after what happened at the cabin, distance may be the only solution. But even that may not work forever.
Brian Palino and Stalla Bloom combine their narrative talents to breath life into these main characters. There rawness and pain becomes palpable as the story progresses and the Chase heats up.

Great story

I listened to this book while I was working, like I do all of my audio books, and found myself lost or confused at times. Overall this is a great book with a terrific story line.

Fantastic

Dale is one hot sexy complicated man. Gin is one free spirited loving complicated woman. They make for one sexy complicated fierce loyal loving friends. They have both want more from each other for a long time. Loved all the feels in this moving story.

Like Book 1

This storyline was whiny and boring. The feelings experienced by one of the characters made no sense, thus why whining during the story was nauseating. I love Stella’s narration but ragging on Dale based on the circumstances did not sit well with me. Book 2 is still my favorite in the series.

Unremarkablly Frustrating

When I read the blurb for this book I thought it would have an Aurora Rose Reynolds vibe. Ex-military man (Navy SEAL - swoon)  vowing to stop at nothing to get his woman back (swoon again), heck yes! Also, I LOVE the narrators, so bonus! Unfortunately, that’s not how this story went.

First off, I loved these two in the previous books. I liked their closeness and banter. In this book, they spent more time fighting about stuff that, if they were to TALK, would have been cleared up a year ago and they could have their HEA. But, sigh… that didn’t happen.

In my opinion, there was A LOT of unnecessary angst and I found that I didn’t really like either one of the main characters. Gin was a scorned witch that not only wouldn’t listen to him, she assumed the worst from her BFF that she claimed to a) love and b) know him better than anyone else. And I stupidly assumed that Dale would be a take charge alpha male with him being ex-military and all. Not to mention the line in the blurb that Nope. He would rather kowtow to his cheating, manipulative ex than to man up and go after what he wants.

However, that being said, I will continue on with the series as I am hoping that the next book will be redeeming.

Boring and frustrating

I have trouble listening to books where all problems exist because two people don’t talk to each other and both are always jumping to conclusions. I had to force myself to finish this book, the only thing that made that possible was the narrators did a good job.
