About this listen

What if your soulmate arrives the day after you decide to stop looking for her?

Hot-shot obstetrician Mercedes Stone is killing it at work, but she has a dirty secret. She’s the daughter of a hoarder. She’s built her life around her research but when her mother’s condition reaches a crisis point, she must drop everything to come home.

Lily Thomas is a pediatrician quickly approaching 40 and all she’s ever wanted is a family. She’s given up on finding Ms. Right, but the day she meets Mercedes – who’s taking a temporary job at Lakeside Hospital – is the same day Lily learns she’s finally pregnant.

They fall for each other hard and fast – it has to be fast because Mercedes is going home in six months to wrap up a vital clinical trial and soon, Lily will have a newborn baby to love. What’s the harm in a quick fling?

But as Mercedes digs out her mother’s house, she begins to realize there’s more for her at home than just junk. What she and Lily swore was just a fling is beginning to feel a lot more like… family.

Labor of Love is a standalone novel in the bestselling Lakeside Hospital series. The books in this series can be listened to in any order.

Story was good

This is a well written story, with some important topics. The MC are well written. The only problem is the punctuation of the narrator, it seems that either she doesn’t use the writer’s punctuation or the punctuation is wrong to begin with. Because the story is good I wanted to listen to it even while suffering throughout the narration.

Healing the Heart and the Body

Dr. Mercedes Stone is a top notch Ob-Gyn and researcher. She has to take a sabbatical to help her Mother with her hoarding problems. Dr. Lily Thomas is a pediatrician specializing in burn victims who at forty is taking a last chance at having a child. A fast fall into love is a surprise to both. A heart warming experience of love and healing wounds.

“Labor of Love” by Cara Malone, Narrated by Victoria Landon.

This story is a wonderful addition to the “Lakeside Hospital” series by Cara Malone, You can’t help but fall in love with Lily Thomas and Mercedes Stone. What starts out as a sort of friends with benefits tryst with a time limit and definite end date turns into a happily ever after. Throw in a little family drama and we have an enticing story.

The narration by Victoria Landon was awesome. I enjoyed the story as well as the wonderful narration!

Lovely story

I really enjoyed this book, the story was sweet and there was no unnecessary breakup or miscomunication. Some issues of mental health were brought up but didn't turn the story into an angst fest. My main problem was with the narrator. Although the voices were great some of the punctuaction was awkward. Overall a great story narrated with a pleasant voice, would absolutely recommend
