Publisher's summary

Fiona Hurston was too young when we first met.

Too naive. Too innocent. Too tempting.

I vowed to protect her, to keep her safe, and I have, for five long years. Even when keeping her safe meant keeping my distance. Even when the greatest threat to her innocence was me.

But Fiona’s not a girl anymore.

When danger’s at her door and we’re forced together, I won’t back down. I’ll defend her. I’ll shield her. I’ll comfort and keep her. Because Fiona Hurston is all grown up now. And it’s time she realized...she’s mine.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Intense!

Jane Henry continues to wow me with another amazing “Dangerous Doms” novel. I am loving this series, the characters, their stories and the dynamics of their world. Each book features a different member of the McCarthy clan in Ballyhock Ireland and this book is Lachlan and Fiona’s story. Lachlan has been protective of Fiona ever since she came to live with the McCarthys, he has a thing for her but is being respectful and stays away. Fiona has been crushing on him, since she has not gotten any where with Lachlan she decides to accept a scholarship and go to school in Boston. Since the McCarthy clan protects what is theirs they set up protection for her with the Boston , but something goes haywire and she has a close call with danger. Lachlan jets off to Boston to keep her safe, Keenan orders him to mark her so the Chief of the Boston mob sees she is not available. This book keeps you on your toes and takes you to the edge of your seat at times, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, mystery, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. Jane Henry, thank you for another awesome story and the thrilling and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the terrific narration, Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott continue to bring these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. The do an awesome job portraying the characters, grasping each persona, taking the role and playing it with perfection, making it believable and sounding just as I picture them to sound, Irish accent and all. They set the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into their performance. They are entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen!

Love at first sight

Loved this audiobook and feel like it was the best so far in the Irish Doms series. There was loads of suspense that kept me fully engaged throughout this book. Fiona was never one to back down and she really shows her strength in this book. I was so looking forward to hearing Lachlan and Fiona’s story and was incredibly impressed. I felt that Jane Henry bloomed this couple in Nolan’s book and made it a swoon worthy, action filled adventure that takes this couple across the pond to Boston and back. Lachlan was so fiercely protective of Fiona right from when he met her, and she was also totally infatuated with him. So happy to see Lachlan claim Fiona.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott perform accents seamlessly and with such compassion in the characters that it’s such a treat to hear them and I absolutely love them teamed up with any Jane Henry novel. Honestly anything that is done by this trio is an automatic one click and if you’re familiar with them you know that you’re in for a treat and you need to get this!

Epic love story!

This is yet another Jane Henry story that you don't want to stop listening to. I love the character development in this story. Fiona has loved Lachlan since she was a young teenager, but he never showed any interest in her. Lachlan is definitely interested in Fiona but until recently she was not of marriage age. When her life is endangered he will be right there to protect her. She is feisty and will do a lot of maturing with Lachlan's guidance and a few spankings. It is so much fun watching their love develop.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott have done an outstanding job narrating all of the books in the Dangerous Doms series and this is no exception. Their Irish accents will have you swooning, and they really bring this story to life. They are talented voice artists and could make a dictionary sound sexy. I highly recommend this Audible book. Jane Henry is a queen of dark romance.

Love this!

I’ve read & loved each book leading up to this one, this one however I think is my favorite. Absolutely loved Lachlan especially after being initially introduced to him in the first book. To watch the character evolve was great. Cannot wait until the following books make it to Audible!

Lachlan!!!

Swoon! This is my favorite so far of the Dangerous Doms. I have been waiting for Fiona and Lachlan's story and Jane Henry delivered! Fiona was in her early teens when we saw her in Nolan's book, and there was budding feelings then. Now on her 18th birthday she sees Lachlan with another woman, and she decides go to Boston, separating herself from him and beginning her independence. But danger looms, and who will come to her rescue? Henry is a master at romantic suspense and she creates an atmosphere that keeps us on the edge while our couple grows closer. Fiona is a spitfire, and I love her energy. She isn't sitting still and is not afraid to say it like it is. Lachlan is the alpha protector, holding back his feelings until he can't any longer and he is the man of her dreams. Pick this one up, you will get to see all McCarthy's, working together to protect what is theirs. This is a fabulous addition to the series.

Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross continue their narration of this incredible series. The two show their versatility with their Irish accents and their talent keeping voices consistent from book to book. It's full of their real chemistry and their performance enjoyable.

Story too mushy for me!

I appreciate a Dom being in love, but it was so mushy, I could barely get through it. The story was just okay, not a favorite. I also think the sex scenes/kink was explained with minimal detail, not enough for the imagination. It was clear though Lachlan is a clear freak in the bed. What he wants to do Fiona would have you clutching your pearls. The details through the scenes were just vague. I'm not giving up on this series, I've enjoyed some of the other brothers and them finding love.
