About this listen

In the game of love, even a rogue can come undone by his own wicked wager.

Callum, the Marquess of Kilgore, long ago accepted that he was no saint. So when he’s offered a shameful bet - to seduce the lady some have dubbed the “Ice Queen” and recover the land he foolishly gambled away - he agrees. Yet, as he comes to know Lady Constantine, he realizes this kind and pure woman deserves far better than a reprobate like himself. Now, he would do anything to protect her from the scandal he helped create, even ruthlessly pushing her away. It seems he hasn’t fallen quite as far into sin as he thought....

But a brush with death and an unexpected offer of a marriage of convenience from Constantine provides an opportunity he never anticipated: recoup his squandered fortune and win back the woman he loves. But before Callum can launch his new plan, a heinous plot rips him away, snatching his freedom and destroying any trace of the man who wanted to open his heart.

Constantine hasn’t a clue what to do when the man she loved, hated, and mourned returns from the dead. Though she is still legally his wife, she certainly doesn’t know him anymore - if she ever did. The seemingly unrepentant rogue appears focused solely on revenge, no matter the destruction it may cause - a far cry from the complex man of honor she once believed him to be. Yet, despite the pain of the past and the demons of the present, Callum still holds the power to inexorably fill her with a yearning and a hope she can hardly control. Suddenly, Constantine wants to risk her heart again for the one thing she has always longed for from the only man she ever cared for - exquisite, unconquerable love.

I couldnt stop listening to this captivating story

This beautiful love story starts out breaking your
heart due to treachery, deceit, abuse. Callum,
the Marquess of Kilgore, and Lady Constantine
are torn apart on their wedding day.
Their friends step up to help the couple.
True love conquers, and the ending will
melt your heart. Julie Johnstone, your
gift of making me feel like I'm walking
along with these fabulous characters
is astounding.
Tim Campbell, your narration, as always
opens our imagination and pulls us
into each chapter. Thank you, Sir!

Enjoyable

can't say I love how addiction was treated as a plot element, but otherwise great as usual

Thoroughly enjoying the series

The stories are very entertaining and engaging I love the characters. However, this book was way too violent way too painful and hard to believe he’s survived all of that truthfully

Amazing

This is an amazing story. From the brutal, heartbreaking prologue to the heartwarming epilogue, this is one that you can’t put down. Callum and Constantine don’t have an ideal start, then it gets worse. Jealousy, greed, kidnapping, lies, and betrayal make a happily ever after for these two seem impossible. Fortunately, these two are stronger than the forces against them, and they have good friends to help them. Timothy Campbell does a remarkable job (as always) bringing the story to life.

Well done

This haps been my favorite of the series. I only wish it didn’t take until like the last 15 minutes for there to be some joy. Other than that this is really a great one, has a good level of dark that I personally like. And Tim C narrating is always great!

perfection

I love this book, I was captivated from the beginning to the end. The bits and pieces we received from the previous books made this book so needed. Their story was absolutely amazing and I can't wait for the next book

Regrets and Devotion

Emotional and stressful decisions make this book interesting and suspenseful. You don't know how much they will be able to endure.
One quick decision leads to regrets and understanding leads to devotion.
Tim Campbell does a wonderful job as narrator to bring all the emotions so you can feel them.

Quick Listen

Enjoyed Callum’s and Constantine’s story. There is great chemistry between the characters and great character development. Secondary characters are a great addition to the story. There are two things I didn’t like (Could be a spoiler alert): 1. Constantine agreeing to marry so soon after she thinks Callum’s is dead. 2. Callum’s obsessive fear about Constantine finding out he found release with another women from manual stimulation while under the influence of drugs. With that said, it’s still a good story and series. I recommend.
