About this listen

From USA Today best-selling, Amazon Top 100 best-selling, and multiple Award-winning author Carmen Caine comes Latchling Blood Moon, the story of Lady Elizabeth Rowle and Dorian Ramsey.

Fate picked me to face an ancient evil. As a powerful Latchling of the Stonehenge Druids, I, Lady Elizabeth Rowle, walked the path of my destiny. I lived life battle-ready, training continually and spending my days delving into the arcane, seeking any and all knowledge that might aid my quest. At last, I felt ready to face the evil haunting my dreams. But there was one thing I hadn’t prepared for - love.

Scotland, 14th century: When Lady Elizabeth Rowle discovers that the ancient evil of the Mindbreaker has reawakened, she knows her time has come. Finding unexpected allies in the Scottish highlander, Dorian Ramsey, and the French devil of a vampire, Jacques LeBeau, she fights the battle of her life - only to discover that fate has other plans.

Note from Carmen: What started out scheduled to be a 20,000 word novella ended up almost 46,000 and full-length book... but what can I say? Elizabeth Rowle had a lot she wanted to share, including an insight on Lucian that will be helpful to know when reading Rebel.

Compelling stand alone - want to read the series now

I haven’t read any other books in this series, so at this point, I’m reviewing this as a standalone story. That said, it’s an interesting, and ultimately sad tale of Elizabeth Rowle. As a very powerful latchling, her magic is stronger than most people around her. She has lived her life waiting for the fate she knows is coming, and when it arrives, she’s in for the battle for her life. At the same time, unexpectedly, she finds something she never expected in her life - love. She has to follow her fate, while fighting to protect her new love, and in the end, she sacrifices everything for both of them. Slow to get started, the story is ultimately compelling on it’s own, and it makes me want to go back to the beginning and read the series from the first book and see how these characters are part of the story.

Great Paranormal listen

I enjoyed this story so much! Lady Elizabeth sacrificed so much for destiny. I feel like in the end she could have done things differently. Dorian would have understood and would have helped her accomplish her goal. But she chose a different path. I'm ready for more of this story.
