Publisher's summary

“The endearing, often erotic story of two men finding love later in life will fill readers’ hearts.” (Publishers Weekly)

Two single dads meet at the office, where it’s hate at first sight in this new series from acclaimed author Jayce Ellis.

Sending his daughter off to college is the proudest day of single dad JaQuan Reynolds’ life. Everything took a back seat to raising her - including his career. He has no idea what comes next, but his newfound freedom is quickly curtailed by a crash deadline at work and the uptight, hovering presence of consultant Matthew Donaldson. He’s surly and insufferably sexy, and Jaq’s ready to check him out and write him off - right up until a work assignment forces them together.

Every day. From now until Thanksgiving.

Work and fatherhood have been Matt’s whole world for years now, ever since his marriage ended. His eldest son is getting hitched over Thanksgiving weekend, and he’s not going to let a work deadline get in the way of celebrating with his family - not this time. The hours aren’t a problem, but the executive assistant on the project might be. Jaq’s sexy voice makes Matt yearn for things he let go of a long time ago.

Lust isn’t on the schedule, and neither is longing. But as the weeks go by, Matt and Jaq are forced to reevaluate their plans...and discover that even the most tight-knit of families can make room for one more.

Story ok, Narrator not so much

I like this author and how he portrays life, but the narrator made this difficult to listen to.

not the narrator

I couldn't get into the story because of the narrator's voice. His voice is for novels or training manuals.

I kept falling asleep!

Of the books that I have listened to in this series thus far, I must say that I have enjoyed this one the least! The narrator sounded like he was attempting to make this book sound like Shakespeare, or something! His portrayal of the characters in this story was lackluster in my opinion… as well as this story was slow moving, and a little boring if I may say so.

OMG! A New Favorite Read and Author!

From the opening to the ending, I was totally engrossed. Ms. Ellis has developed a set of characters with so much depth that it’s easy to fall in love with them all! This book is more than just a m/m romance: It’s a celebration of friendship and family.
The romance between Jaquan and Matt is full of exciting twists and turns. Thank you Ms. Ellis for giving us a story about two strong African-American men searching for themselves and for love, and finding what they were looking for and needing in each other! This book should appeal to a broad audience.
I would also be remiss if I did not give a shout out to K. Benard! Narration it’s excellent.

Worst narrator ever!

The story overall is intriguing and gripping but it is almost completely ruined by the stilted, unnatural and borderline ridiculous narration! Listening to this reader is frustrating and painful. I wanted to listen to the next book in the series but the same narrator is reading it so I have to pass.
