About this listen

Brynn honors her passion for horses by studying at the toughest veterinary program in the country. Months from graduating, tragedy strikes - tragedy for which she can't help but feel responsible. Brynn feels suffocated by the weight of her father's legacy and his dusty hopes for horse show jumping success. When Brynn's frenetic efforts to dig the family business out of debt fail, she's down to one desperate hope.

Enter Jason Lander, who understands what it's like to walk away from the ring. The onetime champion agrees to train Brynn, and her horse Jett, for an all-or-nothing run at the prestigious Million Dollar Gold Cup. But going all the way means doing it his way, which has Brynn questioning her decisions, her loyalties, and her growing feelings for Jason - complicating her relationship with her lover.

Set in Northern California against a stunning backdrop of coastal hills and valleys, Learning to Fall is about discovering how to let go - and how to hang on with your heart.

I enjoyed the realism of the show world portrayed & felt the description of horses & their behavior accurate! Great storyline!

Great storyline

I loved the overall story. The only thing I didn't love was the romantic scenes. If I want that I would rather be involved because I don't believe that is a spectator sport. I love horses and I could see in my minds eye riding and training the horses.

All the Pretty Little Horses

I enjoyed this story. Very sad part but loved she did achieve some wonderful goals. I wished we could of seen her finish vet school although it hinted she was calling her professor. This helped me feel better when I was sick to allow me to relax.

The first few chapters were frustrating for me... Luke not wanting/supporting his daughter to finish vet school to instead train and ride jumpers seemed ridiculous to me and Brynn's apparent lack of horse sense and medical knowledge inspite of going into her last year of vet med irritated me (new author).
But mostly my irritation stemmed from knowing Something was going to happen but having a long build up.
After the story finally really started I was instantly sucked in! Many tears were shed and anguish felt but so worth the ride.

I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

The story had lots of depth and emotion. A gripping tale! Well worth the read.

I ride horses and thought most of this was pretty accurate! The character development was great and the the story was interesting. I hope the author writes more horse books! (So hard to find decent adult horse books!)

Loved it

I could smell and feel the horses! I loved the reference to Timbits! Once I got into it, I couldn't put it down. Loved it!

This author obviously loves horses! A great read.

Her voice, bless her heart, kind of grated on my nerves after awhile. Her attempt to do the male voices did not go well but the story was good.

Story good but narrator was ehh

storyline was okay. I wish that with equestrian books, they would find narrators that are familiar with horses. the reading felt very stilted and there were a number of mispronunciations.

overall good book
