About this listen

Caitlyn Lloyd has the world at her feet. Or more accurately - under her horse’s hooves. With the 2016 Rio Olympics just around the corner, nothing is going to derail her long-held dream of winning a medal or two in Olympic dressage. Not even the reappearance of a childhood so-not-a-friend throwing her perfectly balanced life into disarray.

Addie Gardner’s career is at its peak, and accepting a last-minute fill-in position as the veterinarian for the US Olympic Dressage Team was a no-brainer. The fact that her old crush from Pony Club is on the team is just a bonus. Not a distraction at all. And it might just offer the chance to be friends with the girl who wouldn’t even give her the time of day 20 years ago.

But Caitlyn and Addie have very different memories of their time together at Pony Club, and their first meeting as adults is less like a reconnection and more like a butting of heads. With the Olympics looming, they’ll need to set aside their history and learn to work together. And maybe Caitlyn and Addie will realize childhood memories aren’t always accurate, and that they have more in common than they would ever have thought. Maybe. Just maybe.

OK, granted, I am a horse lesbian, so take this review from where it comes... But when one of your favourite lesbian authors and your favourite narrator team up to tell a story set in an equestrian world, it's a sure win. EJ clearly did a lot of research for the book and I never felt like she had taken shortcuts with the equestrian details. Abbey, was flawless as ever.

What's not to love...

Abby Craden is one of my favorite narrators. Perfect cheesy romance with great character development.

A love story should have multiple layers and thanks to the writing abilities of Ms. Noyes, and the vocal abilities of Ms. Crayden, Pas De Deux, expertly comes through for the pleasure of this lucky listener.
Childhood crushes reaching full maturity on the Olympic Equestrian Turf.
The challenges of lives dedicated to bringing out the best in both competition and total love for the animals the main characters who dedicate their lives seeking fruition.
Combine this with a beautiful love story filled with with passion, devotion and true love’s commitment to meeting all its obstacles TOGETHER. 🥰🥰🥰

Another gord one by E. J. Noyes.

This was somewhat an enemies-to-lovers, but only a small part of it. There was so much going on - the Equestrian Competition at the Olympics, Caitlyn's insecurities, and Addie's job. There was a lot the couple had to overcome! And let me say - Caitlyn's horse, Dewey, almost stole the show! A character all on his own ❤️🐎

okay it's official i cannot STAND Addie on pretty much all levels 😭💀. Decent read though! I enjoy the horse-y aspects! I like that they aren't written to be too anthropomorphisized.

Bad fake accent, annoying unreasonable love interest.

After reading the ebook I could not resist listening to Abby Craden narrating this story. Noyes’s obvious knowledge and love of horses runs through this book like a roaring river. Dewey is the third main character and is the most endearing animal character I have ever come across. His intelligence and curiosity of things all human and animal are so well written. If you are an animal lover but not so sure about the working of dressage do not worry. Noyes explains it all in the book and also the additional glossary. Do yourself a favour and buy this book in what ever form you enjoy.

Emotional but enjoyable romance

LOVED this book and didn’t want it to end! Both MCs were fantastic and lovable, as were the secondary characters, and the dialogue was wonderful. However, Dewey stole my heart! Another phenomenal book by Ms Noyes!

WLW book is an easy to read and characters are well defined. I learned quite a lot about horses and competing.
Sex scenes in Noyes' books are always good especially with Abby Craden reading them! This book had fewer scenes that were very realistic- no one has fantastic sex every time without fail.

E. J. Noyes + Abby Craden= Amazeballs!
