About this listen

Warfare, myth and magic collide in Legacy of Steel, the spectacular sequel to Matthew Ward's acclaimed fantasy debut, Legacy of Ash.

A year has passed since an unlikely alliance saved the Tressian Republic from fire and darkness - at great cost. Thousands perished, and Viktor Akadra - the Republic's champion - has disappeared.

While the ruling council struggles to mend old wounds, other factions sense opportunity. The insidious Parliament of Crows schemes in the shadows, while to the east, the Hadari emperor gathers his armies. As turmoil spreads across the Republic, its ripples are felt in the realms of the divine.

War is coming....and this time the gods themselves will take sides.

its a good story with interesting character, but I find myself just tired. It could use more light hearted content and sections that build character andbworld building to help soften the constant sense of forboding tension.

had to listen at 1.25 speed just to push thru and finish

mentally tired

The story and performance are great, but it is an intense read. Every scene is tension-filled, and after about 20 hours of listening, I felt drained. Not drained enough to stop listening, but it was super intense for so long that I found myself wishing it would just finish up.

Great, but taxing.

Legacy of Steel is a fantastic sequel in the Legacy series. So action packed and intense, I loved every second. The narrator does a great job bringing this story to life. I’m bummed to see book 3 isn’t available on audio, however I will definitely continue on with the series.

Phenomenal!!!
