About this listen

Truly epic urban fantasy

All three books in the critically acclaimed, award winning series, The Paternus Trilogy, together in one digital box set.

Described as American Gods meets The Avengers, Paternus combines myths from around the world in a modern story of action and intrigue that is “urban fantasy on the surface, but so much more at its core!”

“Fantastically fun and enormously epic. The Paternus Trilogy is a powerhouse urban fantasy that explores the very edge of possibility of what this subgenre can offer, and it is glorious. Highly, highly recommended.” (Novel Notions)

Even myths have legends. And not all legends are myth.

Book 1: Paternus: Rise of Gods

When a local hospital is attacked by strange and frightening men, Fiona Patterson and Zeke Prisco save a catatonic old man named Peter - and find themselves running for their lives with creatures out of myth and legend hounding their every step.

In order to survive, they must join up with powerful allies against an ancient evil that’s been known by many names and feared by all. The final battle of the world’s oldest war has begun.

Book 2: Paternus: Wrath of Gods

Fi and Zeke aid Peter in his globe-trotting quest to seek out the remaining Firstborn, uncover the enemy’s plans, and gather the warriors of old. Along the way, Fi and Zeke discover they, too, have strengths of their own - though they come at a cost neither may wish to bear.

Book 3: Paternus: War of Gods

From Africa to Asgard, to an invisible island in the Pacific and the Bone Road of a forgotten realm, Fi and Zeke must come to grips with who and what they are - and accept what they are becoming: wielders of ancient and dangerous powers, warriors, and maybe even heroes.

Cry havoc, and let slip the gods of war.

Now my favorite

I've read and listened to many books and few have impacted as much as this series. It was interesting to hear a story that not only expressed an intriguing thought on the God's but also has much reread value. Nik Magill's narration to the stories was impactful and Dyrk Ashton's writing was so good that it was easy to envision what was written in the minds eye. This series has now surpassed many others and had become my favorite series and I look forward to listening to it again.

Loved the trilogy

I found the first book sort of slow, with a lot of description of characters. But by the second and third book I was totally sold and involved in the story. At first the narrator seemed somewhat mechanical, but again, by the second and third books I found his narrative soothing and Enjoyable.

Definitely worth the listen

Narrated by Nick M, this was great & it was free. The premise & idea of the "Gods" were interesting and as far as I know, original or at least an interesting twist. Nick was a fine narrator though not exciting. Clearly a reader and not so much an actor. Aside from that, I was not turned off from listening to him for 3 very long books. I enjoyed the authors take on myths and character back stories and felt some connection with the characters. Enjoy

when you want to dive deep

This is one of my all-time favorite trilogies. I read a lot, and I listened to audile books more. not only does the narrator keep it 💯, there is not the mathematics involved to decipher what the author (or characters for that matter) are going through. the immediate feelings of every emotional point are convincing and honest at that moment. it is so emursive. I love it. im happy with my purchase and look forward to a hard copy to add to my collection

I think it's worth it

The story takes several hours to get started but once it does, it was pretty amazing.
I didn't mind the narrator.
I didn't appreciate the sound effects. I started the book when I got into my car and when I was diving thtough something narrow the bells chimed and I stopped thinking something went wrong...

I sincerely enjoyed it after the character setup, I just wish their were more homosexual relationships rather than just mentioning it.

Warning:
There is sexual themes (not like a bad porno more like young love)
There are a lot of swearing
The book also includes religious "myths"
There are explicit themes namely nudity, sex, rape and torture. (in moderation)
